You can't convert the new, modified, 52k .IFF file back to ABK?

I've tried to convert again; now the file is 43k; and still looks exactly the same.

File in The Zone! called "Test.zip".

Can you convert that to ABK?

So 52834 is exact size of the file?

I'm not sure how to get the modified file exactly that; I've tried twice now and am out of suggestions

Maybe clenched will know.

Edit: what happens if you open the original .CZ in a paint program on the Amiga, open my modified file on the same paint program on the Amiga, then cut / paste my image over the original .CZ one and save. Does this then have the same required size?

Edit 2: I think I've got the file the correct size now; at least in Windows it show 51k like the originals... please try "data_m_1_correct.zip" from The Zone!

I just tried to load it into perfect paint and save there. But aiff paint still doesn't want it. I had the same problem when I modified the images in grafx2 windows.

I'll try your method tomorrow. I have my alarm clock in 4 hours now

Sure no problem

I added an edit to my post, not sure if you saw? Hopefully this one is ok and can be converted to ABK.

Button/Menu Screen replacement. 44 and 45 color button pictures means some quality loss. If the pictures aren't 32 color or the palette gets fouled up then it will never look as good as it could.

That looks absolutely amazing clenched, many thanks

I mean, there are very slight brickwork issues next to "sfx" and "music" where I guess it hasn't lined up properly; but it's definitely good enough

A question, how did you get the new menu graphics loaded in / working?

Well done guys, it's been a mammoth team effort, and the results are outstanding!!!

A lot wrong. Main background was 256 color IFF which is probably why Aladin couldn't pack it.

The buttons had too many colors so the brush palette didn't re map exactly to menu's. Also color 0 (black) is transparent. Color 25 or so is also black but not transparent. This allowed residual green to show through mortar joints and shadows when switching. Only the bar at right needed to be transparent.

The word music had to be put in the menu picture, If sfx is selected and menu goes unattended it will still be there. Music shows when selected but would vanish after one cycle.

I opened / worked on the original main menu file.

I guess when I saved as .PNG in Photoshop, before using XNView MP to convert back to .IFF, this is when this somehow changed to 256 colors...

clenched, I just tried this and all seemed good

I left "sfx" selected, and then let the screen cycle to the "Hall of Fame", then back to the "Main Menu", then to the "Credits" and back to the "Main Menu" again. I let this process happen twice and "sfx" was shown constantly.

I then selected "music", and then let the screen cycle to the "Hall of Fame", then back to the "Main Menu", then to the "Credits" and back to the "Main Menu" again. I let this process happen twice and "music" was shown constantly.

I updated the other banks (with the experience acquired since the first version, including missing translations in the banks intro and outro), there is only that of the "game over" which troubles me a little. I had to use the wrong black, it has to be redone.

"data_g1_2" and "data_g2_2" (AmSp)
Sprite157.iff « KONEC HRY » « Game Over »

Before you posted this reply, I noticed that you'd changed two files this afternoon; and updated the patch .LHA on the 1st page.

Hmmm, I also noticed that you didn't use clenched's files from this post.

...and you've somehow managed to fix these small issues that I mentioned:

How did you do this?

What else did you change today so I can take a look?

Finally, do you want me to take a crack at creating a new "Loading" to make it look better than just plain text?

I found the background "blurry" (suddenly I touched the menu a little and also the background of sfx / music so that it is cleaner when switching from one to the other), but you can use the menu1 from this thread if you find it better

Yeah, just noticed that. Although you've fixed the very little glitch next to "sfx" and "music" with clenched's files.

...the brickwork is messed up here though:

If we could somehow use your top half, with clenched's bottom half into the one image then all would be perfect

I can try combining and hope that the file doesn't get messed up due to using Windows programs; but I would need your base .IFF file for the "Main Menu".

I take it that the "sfx" / "music" line is usually blank i.e. just bricks and no text?

So after this I just think it would be good to improve on these last texts:

... Loading
... Game Over
