Blizzard 1230 IV
Recently I’ve bought from amibay 64mb edo simm(as you can see from picture) for my A1200 and have started the problems. The machine does not boot even from disk...
I’ve switched back with another 8mb module and all worked fine. Is it possible the 64mb to be faulty or what? |

Take it off. Even if 70ns will work you will have around 10% slower computer. I can not live with 70ns on my Blizz MKIV

60ns/70ns Jumper setting may help. Lower Latencies are always better. Is that a Single or double sided SIMM? Guessing Double with chips saying 8 x 8.... |

All looks ok....
Have you tried the 64Mb SIMM with the Jumper "Off" to set 70ns? I see you have the Jumper "On" with your 8Mb SIMM in the pic above. |

The chip is 70ns because I told the seller to send me 60ns.
With 8mb the card flies so I think it’s 60ns |

The manual for the Blizzard 1230 IV can be found here:
http://phase5.a1k.org/files/1230iv.pdf Information on the 60/70ns jumper can be found on page 4 (German) and page IV (English). |

There's also a manual on the BigBookOfAmigaHardware-Page for the 1230-IV:
https://www.bigbookofamigahardware.c...t.aspx?id=1707 Just a warning, it gives a https certificate error, because the certificate is expired. So use on your own risk. |

Strange, works for me (opens PDF document directly).
Try this one. You have to select the model (third entry in table). http://phase5.a1k.org/manuals.html |

I have a 32MB sim that is 60ns but only works with 70ns wity my Blizz IV. I'm not using that sim. Blizzard cards can be little picky so the seller that sold you the sim might not have done anything wrong. It is just nothing you can do about it.

Not all 72 Pin SIMM's are always compatible. - EDO packages are normally 36Bit, 4 bits for Parity.
72 Pin SIMM's of the PageMode variety are always a safer bet & are normally 32Bit. |

Seller send me another one module but I have the same symptoms. When jumpers are on 60ns Amiga does not boot. When switch back at 70ns the module behaves normally.
I have an older one 8mb 60ns which work fine so I don't think that the problem is in the card. |

I had trouble with Blizzard 1230IV being picky about memory, too.
I had success with modules from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184212196201 I am in no way associated with the seller. |
