A3000 install disk 2.04

I don't know if this disk is considered a part of Workbench, and therefore not to be uploaded, but hopefully it's fine to at least discuss it.

I've seen several references to this disk (part number 367826-01), but no checksum or other evidence that anyone actually has it. Is it excessively rare? It seems strange, considering 2.04 is considered the release version of 2.x. Pre-release versions of the install disk, like 2.03, are easy to find, even though they apparently were only included with early A3000 systems. Did non-early A3000 systems include the generic 2.04 install disk (part number 367826-02) instead of an A3000 specific one?

I have an A3000 2.04 install set. EAB doesn't allow current OS's that are licensed to be hosted afaik.

Is the install disk part number 367826-01 or 367826-02? If it's the former, would you mind posting the checksum in the preservation thread for reference?

After checking, the the WB set are all -01 numbers Exept the install disk -02 so I guess it's not an A3000 release? btw how would I derive the checksum?

Did that set of floppies come with the A3000 when it was new? In that case it's possible that part number 367826-01 is indeed some rare oddity. Since early A3000 came with a pre-release of 2.0, the install disk also supported Kickstart and Workbench 1.3 for "production use". It's possible that they dropped 1.3 for the mature 2.04 release, and that's why there's only a generic 2.04 install disk (part number 367826-02).

If you still want to derive checksums, I guess the easiest way is to make disk images (ADF files), and either use a tool that calculates CRC32 of the files, or make a ZIP file (or some other archive that uses CRC32) and inspect the checksums of the contents.

Thanks for the info on checksums. I didn't know. I actually bought the 2.04 disk set complete with binder recently. It was the first 2.04 set I'd seen with an Install disk.

Thanks for confirming that the set wasn't necessarily included with an A3000. Maybe there's a part number 367826-01 lurking out there after all.

Apparently the install disk was only included if you bought a computer with a hard drive, so it's generally rarer than the rest of the set.

Did an adf of my 2.04 Install disk; and checked with 7-zip crc32. Matches -02 release slated for A500+ on that site.

If you scroll down to "367826-01 Install 2.04 1991 Commodore A3000", unfortunately there's no CRC. Just to be clear, I'm not looking for 367826-02.

I have an image of the disk, but unfortunately someone has snapshotted or otherwise modified the hdtoolbox.info file.

Again, it's the wrong part number. Looking for 367826-01, not 367826-02!

I see you've edited your post, is this about the 367826-02 one you originally mentioned, or do you have another image which is of 367826-01?

I have a couple of A3000 SuperKickstart sets. One US and one German.
The US v2.03 Install disk is part#335603-04
The German release is v2.03 Install disk part#335803-04
But no fabled #367826-01 unfortunately.

Just found on EAB FTP a different version of the 2.04 install disk than the regular one. It has a checksum error.

http://ftp2.grandis.nu/turransearch/...0&httplinks=on

The first listing.

In the pic attached the listed Install disk (left) is an earlier release than the 367826 -02 disk (right) and the same version

If the above image is correctly 367826-01 then it may be a corresponding image to the disks shown on this site: http://www.bambi-amiga.co.uk/amigahi...migaos204.html
