If you want to do this, I'll be here to test it :-)
I have a 882 in there too.

Unless someone wants to create an integer-only drop in replacement for Tokamak it's not happening
I made a small update to fix a couple of issues with the engine sound. The pitch for the left and right channels would sometimes go out of sync, and it was a bit too quiet compared to the crash sound. Now it should be closer to the DOS version. If there are no big issues this version will probably go to Aminet.

It works... ok on 040/40. All i'm missing at this point is an option to restart race without reloading whole map. It's so long to load.

Good work!

Great to hear that it's playable on an 040! I'm currently trying to pinpoint an elusive bug, but I'll check later if there's something I can about the loading times.

I got 11-12 fps on Dirt1 and 12-13 in Tarmac1. Apollo 040/40 + OxyPatcher. I will try to upload some video later.

Any chances to add possibility to choose tracks with joystick/pad? At this moment we must use keyboard for track selection.

Unfortunately joystick support for the menus is not possible at the moment. Currently it's just hacked in to emulate key press states ingame, but if the original game receives joystick support, I'll update the amiga port as well.

Oxypatcher doesn't help with this, it patch programs wich are meant to use 68881 or 68882 FPUs, when using 68040 or 68060 CPU's FPU. This is made to natively 68040/68060

A new version is out. It should fix the slowdown issues jotd experienced, as I found someone else who had the same problem intermittently. Since the problem was... well, intermittent I can't be a 100% sure, but I'm crossing all my fingers.
The other significant change is that replaying the same track won't reload it from scratch. This should make getting back to the same track near instantaneous. Please note that if you change the track direction it will have to be reloaded, as this feature is implemented at load time.

It looks like the mystery-slowdown is still there, the quest to pinpoint it continues.

Thanks for "restart without reloading" feature.

But there's another suggestion: insta saving hi scores. I experienced something like this.

Track with original X bronze time. I start my race and achieved X-1s time, so in display i see my new record with bronze cup next to it. Then i restarted my race and got X+3s time. In menu my recent record was replaced with X+3s so my bronze cup is gone. Also game after restartin track shows checkpoint times comparing to original recorded time, it doesn't matter you got better time earlier. Just recorded time is reference until you score better and change a track to save new record data.

It seems that there's no saving between races, only if you change a track.

This is probably a side effects of skipping the loading, I'll look into this.

I've made some tests and it's strange, but without Oxy i'm getting 1-2 less FPS.

Even though the game executables are compiled for 040 and 060 they still make calls to system libraries, there could be trapped instructions there.
Anyway, the problem was that the TOP files have to be reloaded when restarting the match. I fixed this and uploaded a new version.

I made a small update, because in the previous version I accidentally left vsync disabled. It's not that jarring in these types of games, but now it's restored. Regarding the mystery-slowdown I currently don't have anyone to test it with, so if it happens for you let me know.

I've downloaded this track https://www.franticware.com/rcross#usertracks but it froze at loading screen. I realized i need to change default 0 record time to anything positive in fnull.dat and then track started to work.
