Here are a few examples:
Winning the Race: 225.15 - 10 * 100 = 21,515 Average times, 25th place: 200.15 - 250 * 100 = -4,985 Low score, 35th place: 160.15 - 350 * 100 = -18,985 Please dont post your setups on the threads, as half of the challenge is getting the setup right, and the other half is the racing. |

Oh Goddamn it.
Is there any big advantage playing this on Winuae over an unexpanded A600 ? It has been more than 20 years since I last played this, and I always sucked at it, ugh. |

When there are no others cars playing "bumper cars" with me, I am cutting the grass and painting the walls with the car. My best lap practice so far is 1:32.18 (97 MPH). I am sure Daminen will be able to release a new pack before I finish the 30 laps...

Car settings play a huge role here. Like I said, it has been 20 years, but I remember making a huge difference the way I conifgured my car. I used to have saved setups back at the day on the floppy.

Do the laps on Yellow Flag also count for the speed average?
Tried playing it now, I stayed longer on Yellow Flags than Green Flags (THis is very realistic, hehe), ended up with the nose of my car up to the wall and without a reverse gear I couldn't get back to race. How long a 30 laps race last? I mean in real time, on average? Last edited by Shatterhand; 14 January 2019 at 01:27. |

You can reverse the car by rolling the mouse backwards when you are at a standstill.

Wait, are you playing with the mouse ?
So its Winuae time, my Classic Amiga mousa kinda sucks, it always sticks when I move to the left. Ok, this may need way more dedication than I was willing to give it. If I get lots of free time at some point I may try to finish one race just to have a score, but I think I'll end up skipping the first round. |

Yeah, with the analogue controls of a mouse its smoother when making the corners.

If you don't have the motivation to find your perfect setup here's a setup that should do well:
Fuel: 40 gallons Wings: 3/1 (probably front/rear movements counted from the top) Tyres (Rubber+Pressure): RF/RR/LR/LF: m22/s24/s25/s26 (medium tires, 22 pressure and so on) Stagger: +0,40 inch Shocks: 4/4/4/4 (counted from the bottom) Cambers: -0,5/+0,25/+1,75/+0,5 Gears: 9,76 6,26 4,28 4,20 Coagulus posted this in this thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=50436 and Zak said it works very well. I only changed 15 to 40 gallons fuel so you'll have enough for the 30 laps. Just tried the game yesterday (not with this setup yet). Seems inaccessible/impossible at first but it's actually quite simple: just accelerate, brake and steer. Gears are automatic. Always brake before curves if you have a car in front of you so you don't smash into it (yellow flags-phases are no fun) and only overtake on straights! Never played it for more than 5 minutes when I had it in 1992 but it's actually quite fun once you get the hang of it. Last edited by john4p; 17 January 2019 at 19:33. |

The race stopped when I was driving the 25th lap - was position 7.
Strange not to be able to finish the lap... (100.89 - 70) * 100 = 3089 Thanks for the tips regarding the tuning. Don't know if it changed something but thanks |

Well done - a positive score (with this formula) isn't easy to get.

Thanks. I am especially glad as it's the first time I play this game. Never been fan of "simulation" game. Only used to Mario Kart with my mini-Godzillas
Waiting to play SotB (even if I am may be bad at it now ) Last edited by malko; 17 January 2019 at 12:40. Reason: typo |

(129,12-100)*100 = 2,912
Maximum attack. Should try to calm down a bit, since nearly every lap was with yellow flags Last edited by el_pasi; 05 June 2021 at 17:22. |
