WinUAEX V3 is released (Read on )

This one supports CD32 and CDTV !!!!!

Cant find the damn thing though
Here's the Specs !!!

WinUAEX Amiga Emulator port for XBox v3

what's New:

- CD32/CDTV support - Plays real CD32/CDTV cds and ISO files
(playing CD32 ISO files does not support WAV/MP3 CDDA tracks at this time)

- Added "Extended ROM" to configuration screen

- Samba, Relax, Netplay re-implemented

- Increased max JIT cache size to 8MB

- Increased max Chipmem size to 8MB - WHDLoad games work now

- Added drive click sounds option "Floppy Volume" on game configuration screen

- Fixed bug with display of FastRAM. 1MB was displayed as 0MB and vice-versa.

- Screen tearing was not actually fixed in v2. Now it is.

- Added "Force PAL50" mode in Video Configuration section (off by default)

- Added "Disable Flicker Filter" to Video Configuration section (on by default)

- Create blank ADF/HDF files from In Game Options menu

- ADZ support

- Fixed all special/international character-conversion to be non-DEBUG FAT-X compatible
(Workbench enthusiasts)

- Screen size/position saved for each game

- Added more fine-grain CPU speed options.
0 = Max, 1 = Real, 2 = 100% ... 33 = 0%

- Added "Reset Amiga" function to In-Game Options menu

- Fixed memory bug when reading ISO9660 files

- Added default text-viewing dir. Set it via the default directories section.

- Text file settings (fixed width, text width) are maintained each time
you go back and forth from the menu

- When you go up a directory, the cursor is positioned over the directory you just
exited.

- Because of changes to the structure of configuration file, you'll have to
reconfigure all your games.

- Graphics filters were added back in, but only one or two of them could be
used without slowing down the game (on even the simplest of games.)
I removed them again so that the memory could be put to better use.

===============
Important Notes
===============

To get CD32 emulation working, you need two ROM files to be placed in the
D:\ROMS directory. They are the CD32 version of the Kickstart 3.1 ROM and the
CD32 extended ROM image. They need to be called :

D:\ROMS\KICKCD32.ROM
D:\ROMS\EXT_CD32.ROM

The default configuration that appears for CD32 games should work in most
cases.

To play a real CD, put the CD into the XBox DVDRom drive and select
"Launch Inserted Media" from the Main Menu.

To play an ISO file, select it as you would normally select an ADF game.

CD32/CDTV emulation is a little flaky. On rare occasions, the bootup screen will not
appear. Also, the CDDA tracks will sometimes fail to play.

Playing MP3/WAV files with ISO CD32 tracks is not currently supported.

Whoohoo!

There is a website that it can be downloaded from but the name escapes me atm... I will PM you when I get home.

Im still getting to grips with v2. I find the menus a bit confusing but managed to get a few games to run.

I take it then, that the binary for this (and I guess any other non-Linux emu for XBox) is technically illegal? Just wondered...

Q: Where are the downloads? What's wrong with your website?

A: Distributing XBEs created with the Microsoft XDK is bad, m'kay? Search the net for them.
It is "bad"?

Ok this is to do with Winuae even if it doesnt look like it at first !!!

Question !!!! ok technically its illigal but tell me.....Modders who mod xboxs complained on forums that the plug holes on the motherboards were filled with solder making it awkward to mod!!!!

Next release of Xbox found microsoft had left the solder out !!!
Next release made it easier to Mod and again the solder was still left out!!!

In fact if they did away with the holes it would be almost impossible to mod the box and it could shut down most sites selling mods and making emulator ports overnight !!!

My point is EMU's like WINUAEX..MAME....XSNESX and mods sells Xboxs and Mr Gates knows it as he could end all this tomorrow !!!

The only thing illigal about Winuaex is what it was ported with...The Winuae used is free !!!! ( Thank god for Winuae )

I wonder how many people Mr gates has put inside for making an emulator port ??????
My guess is not many...I have a hard time condoning these Emulators as i dont see them doing Microsoft any harm PLUS!!! WinUAE on Xbox...Priceless!!! (And lets not forget...it is our own loveable WinUAE )

One day we will be able to say......Remember xbox....I can play it on my WinUAE V.17000.735

Look out Toni......you got a lot of work ahead

I hope this illegality issue doesn't make microsoft track the thing back to the source, to the original winuae and cause problems for Toni.

Oh god no !! Winuae is perfectly Legal.....So is Winuaex really....Its just that it used the XDK to port it thats the only legal issue .... You can buy legitimate Emus for Xbox....My guess is a licence is all thats needed to go commercial !!!!

If not.....We will point them to Brian King ...And we will hide Toni

Mr Gates can't be THAT happy to have people buying xboxes just to play emus though. They lose money on every xbox sold and make it back on games (that was the plan anyway) so people only playing emus and xbox media player are losing him money.

They were first sold at nearly $500 He made a profit alright and now with mass production even at todays prices hes probably making more than ever.

Its what you can do with an xbox that makes the choice when choosing a console ....no one buys one just to play EMU's you can use a PC for that its just a good bonus !!!

Of course if Bill gates Didnt make any money from sales of XBOX he wouldnt be stupid enough to make XBOX2 would he ????? But he is

Microsoft has freely admitted that it will continue to lose money on this first generation of the Xbox for the life of the console, but it seems that the bleeding has slowed.
And yes people do buy xboxes just for emu's and the like. I think Antiriad pretty much did.
