Hi all,
i have just purchased this for my Amiga 1200. I am new to the 1200 scene after having an 500 back in the day. Will my 1200 require timing fixes for this to work? https://amigastore.eu/en/868-terribl...128mb-ide.html thanks |

It's pretty unlikely, but if you have crashes during boot and serious stability issues (and have ruled out a software cause) then it's worth checking out.
If you haven't had your A1200 recapped, get that done and ask whoever does it to carry out the timing fixes while they're there - it's a 5-minute job when you already have the motherboard out. |

Thanks for the advice.
My board is currently away for recapping, so have messaged them to ask if it can have the timing fix too |

I've got one of these boards- it seems to work OK but it doesn't show up in the expansion menu whe you boot while holding both mouse buttons? WhichAmiga detects it as running at 7MHz instead of 50, but Sysinfo gives the 'right' speed results.
Has anyone else had these results? Also, how many devices can run from the IDE port? Was thinking of a laptop CD-ROM and maybe an IDE zip drive if possible (I can't get my Surf Squirrel to work and can't figure out if it's the pcmcia slot). |

The TF boards present the RAM at the correct address for the system to find and add it automatically (a feature that was added with OS 3.1 - hence you need to manually add the RAM if you use an older Kickstart). This means they JustWork™ in terms of the RAM being available to the system, but you won't see them listed in any apps or the early startup. The frequency showing up strangely is likely due to the way the board interacts with the motherboard. The CPU will indeed be clocked at 50MHz - but it slows to 14MHz when dealing with the motherboard chipset (as the motherboard is still running at 14MHz), then ramps back to 50MHz when it's crunching it's own stuff. This confuses some tools which expect the CPU to run at a fixed clock. |

Hello folks,
So I had the same issue, got one of these cards but my Amiga won't see it. It was interesting reading the comments and replies above. As I'm running Kickstart 3.0 I guess I need to upgrade to 3.1 or 3.2... Or how do I manually add the memory so the Amiga sees the extra RAM on the TF card? Sorry for the noob question but any advice gratefully received. Thanks. Keith |

with 3.0 the computer sees the card.. (you get a 030 cpu if you check) but no fastmem.
you can add memory with "addmem" that is available on amibay and enter the memoryaddresses. but better skip that buggy 3.0 and get a proper kickstart |
