Knowing the main coder of Roll or Die, I know that this was never supposed to be mocking disabled people. This was rather supposed to be in the vein of black british humor as presented by Monty Python.
I actually never perceived "Roll or Die" as offensive. Last edited by Jerry; 14 January 2010 at 12:43. Reason: Damnit, I'm slow |

It was just the typical Animators humor (Sim Blind anyone?), not more, not less.

Bill Laimbeer's Basketball, I think the name is, on SNES. If you've played Speedball, you'll be insulted to the core by this woefulness. If you've played Brutal Deluxe, this game's like a crime against humanity.

Whoa, there are some really offensive games in this thread! That Postal 3 game is hard to beat in terms of raw offensiveness. I remember being pretty disturbed by "Smurf Hunt."

Postal 2 was good for one thing only.
Killing Gary Coleman. nothing better then dressing in a gimp suit, setting him on fire then peeing on him after shooting his guards in the face with a shotgun with a cat mounted on the end. then go on a killing spree with a shovel in the shopping mall. of course after about 5 mins the game stops being offensive and is just plain boring. the game was simply all about offence and tbh it failed miserably at that let alone the gameplay which in a nutshell was utterly attrocious. i'll admit i never got any offensive games when i was a kid with my amiga, i suppose Walker could be viewed as offensive but then it was too much fun for that, Syndicate when you set people on fire i guess could be seen as offensive. however reading about some of these games, i must say i have a morbid curiosity to play some, simply for the reason that i want to see it myself. i guess its just my brain wanting to know what all the fuss it about. |

there was a fighting game on psx that was never released as far as i know, that took place in a asylum place, being oldschooll piratoz!, offcoz it was possible to grab the game on so called golden disc, not impressive, but a tad disturbive........only game though that ever made me uneasy, and still does, was the classic silent hill series, perfection unequaled in terms of generating a perfect mixture of sound and visiuals and tbh the more infirior the system, the better the atmosfeare, a masterpiece in every way.......probly not what was intended by this thread, but that wa what first sprung to my mind

I've not been here in years, but ironically this thread was started on the day before 9/11... there have certainly been a lot of offensive games about that.
Here's one that got a lot of news because you could never win the game... New York Defender http://www.ebaumsworld.com/games/play/784 And here's one that's based on the Columbine massacre... nice... http://www.columbinegame.com/ |

From what I remember, The Executioner on Amiga gained the wrath of Amnesty International due to its portrayal of torture.
