Yep, I had this game back in the day.
Loved the huge characters. Not a great game, but a great game to own. ;-)
Good looking for the time, huge characters, good music. Game play wasn't great, but it was fun for short periods...

One thing I remember is that I had left one of the original disks in the drive (disk 3?) one time, and powered up my Amiga.
Instead of not booting, it booted and did some time of wavy screen thing (intentional, not something broken) that I thought was fun...
(Or at least that's the way I remember it... If anyone still has the originals, I wonder if my memory is right?)

I still prefer Alien Breed laughing at you for only having 512k, but that's a pretty cool Easter Egg. Sword of Sodan is before my time, never bothered to play it, but I wonder how many people commented on this extra demo back then.

Ah!!!
That was it!!!

Yeah, that's been a while since I saw that... ;-) Thanx!

As for DanScott's comment below, exactly!!! I had a lot of fun with Gladiator and this reminded me of that, which is why I bought it!

I remember thinking at the time of its release, that it was definitely inspired by the coin-op Gladiator

I was always impressed with a giant characters on the 64 version. I never put it together that soDan was inspired by gladiator

I can still recall walking into electronics boutique here in the states and Sword of soDan was being demoed. People were looking for the boombox because nobody could believe this was the actual music coming from the Amiga

Very funny.

In 1988 SoS was mighty impressive. I liked the game very much and could defeat the wizard twice in my career. Very difficult tough. Nowadays i see it more like a good game from the past that haven't aged too well.
