Each folder will have subfolders related to format, condition (verified or not) etc. etc.

Example:
-Agony
-------------KF RAW
-------------SCP
-------------CTRAW
-------------IPF (unofficial)
[...]

-Ports of Call
-------------KF RAW
-------------SCP
-------------CTRAW
-------------IPF (unofficial)
[...]

Pro: all images of a game (KT, SCP, CT etc.) will be under the same folder, and it will be easier to test/find/choose/discard some of them.
Cons: a lot of folders
A bad idea/proposal?

How would we handle different versions of the same game?

By making multiple folders, ie:
- Agony (version xxx)
- Agony (version yyy)
- Ports of Call (version xxx)
- Ports of Call (version yyy)

or (better, I would say) under the main title folder:

-Agony
----------version xxx
----------version yyy

- Ports of Call
----------version xxx
----------version yyy

etc.

I'm just proposing it. Maybe it's not a good idea...

I like your second option. What are you thinking how we denote that they have been verified..specified in the folder name of the dump type? Identifying the version will be interesting for some...I have a few different versions of some games that use different protection schemes..Thunder Boy and Grid Start come to mind. I think I have 4 versions of Gidstart that all have a different sized main file and 3 of them use one protection method and the 4th uses a different one. Maybe we just state alt and a number.

Does anyone else want to propose an alternative or is this structure fine with everyone involved?

I agree. The 'Name -> Version -> Image Type' structure should work fine.

Yes, so we don't have different images of the same game/version scattered here and there on the server .
Pro: better order and easier researching/comparing etc.
Con: more folders and subfolders than now (but shouldn't be an issue, I think)

Yes, in the folder name of the dump type would seem the clerarest way, imho.

We could split it by letter to not have over 1000 subfolders in the 'root'. So it would be 'Letter -> Name -> Version -> Image Type'.

Example:
Code:
A
- Agony
-- V1.00
--- Flux
--- IPF
--- SCP
- Alien Breed
-- V1.05
--- Flux
--- IPF
P
- Ports of Call
-- V1.01
--- Flux
--- IPF

With "Flux" you are meaning KF RAW?
If not, I would put the "SCP" folder under the "Flux" one.

Strange how i've only just noticed this post

I have a ton of dumps I can upload, Abaddon has already contributed a fair chunk of his dumps! But as mentioned in the first post it's avoiding duplicates and then sorting modified dumps from unmodified ones!

Somebody on Mastodon tagged me and uploaded a Sim City 512k version that they think is different to the one in SPS. I've uploaded the image to 'Flux_Images/Incoming/Raw' as 'simcity512k_kryoflux.zip'.
