Virocop personalized password

the password shared in the hol page are useless without knowing what player name has been choosed at the first game boot

this game uses a personalized password system

maybe a new generic passwords set can be made just pressing enter at the initial name request, so without entering a name;
or the ones on hol are already generated in that way ?

i'll made some tests to better check

I'll check later if those passwords are meant to be used without entering a name. Funny how in 18 years (that's how long they are in HOL) nobody stumbled over this

i presume a lot of directly cracked & trained releases used

i'm discovering many picky things testing the ipf set

i have checked atm, no the passwords don't work also with no name selected

@TCD I thought I understood how that password system worked, and instead not

i have tried to complete just level 1 in some trained releases, received the password, and used after a game over...
and all worked fine

but after a reset, the password does not work anymore

i presumed the passwords could be saved on disk but seems not

now i'm more confused

ok the original save the name choosed instead, and also the final score (on the original disk ), differently than the cracked releases;
i think the password are strictly generated and valid only with the personal disk set then

So... every 'version' (original and each crack) has its own set of passwords? Or is it each disk set? This is pretty weird. I've seen password systems that store lives and other things, but I don't think I've ever seen personalised passwords...

seems they find a tricky method, so you need to play totally your personal version, without use other password to jump directly at the end ie

i have checked better using the ipf, where the save system works, differently than the cracks

i'll try to explain :

-when you select a name at first boot, it will be saved on game disk 1;
this is mandatory if you want use the passwords later (ie rebooting the system); it is also possible to not select a name, but you need to save the same, if you want later use the password

-after ie having completed level1, you'll get a password;
now, that password will also be saved on disk 1 after a game over (seems a Gods similar thing, but after each level instead of each set of levels)

it's a combined thing, the passwords works only using the played and modified (as overwritten) disk set

so, if you try ie that password on the original first booted disk, unsaving other or same name, does not work;

if you try the same password on the original first disk with just the same name saved on, it does not work either

my op was also not properly right

every set of passwords for this game is useless, if not used with same set of disks used to play it, and so saved on disk1

also, the saves works only using original disks
