Beast 3 - F1 to 2nd Button = Fix

Hello Folks.

The Game Shadow of the BEAST 3 make problems with some
PC(IBM-AT) to Amiga Keyboard Converters,
or on the CD32 with expansions (Pro-Module ect.)

When you press a Button on the keyboard ( beside the Quit Key )
the game resets the Amiga.

This is NOT the fault of WHDLOAD !!!

But WHDLoad could fix this, and make it playable

When the F1 key ( for Inventory ) would be mapped to the 2nd Fire button of the joystick.

The install is from the Year 2001 and could need an update,
because Beast 3 is actually pretty good.

I try´d to reach Galahad at one point, but he never responded.
Sting Ray would do it but he is such a busy man and i dont want to give him "extra work".

So, maybe some of you great Fellows on the Board can do it.
Same problem with Beast 2 but that game is not as playable as Beast 3.

Anyway, only the awesome people in the
Amiga Board Community can

Which slave version are you using?

Which WHDload core version are you using?

Which WHDload tool types do you have set in the ICON?

What other tooltypes have you tried? PAL, NTSC, NoCache, NoAutovec? NoResINT? NoMMU?

Follow the bug report mechanism to capture as much detail as you can?

Use the WHDload.de mantis tracker to ask for a feature enhancement?

P.S. The WHDload page for the Beast 3 slave doesn't look 100% correct. It looks like the latest slave is v1.3 by Bored Seal but only half the documentation has been updated to reflect this.

Thank´s Alex for the response.

I use 1.2 of the installer. (pal)
But i tryed also the JST version and older versions to.

WHDload used 1.6 to current, Toolstype NOCACHE , BUT, like i said, its not the fault of WHDLOAD.

Even if i play from disk the same thing happends, but WHDLOAD could fix this if somebody would make the 2nd button on the Joystick the F1 KEy ( inventory )

Then it would be playable.

Sting Ray said he could make it but he is so busy.....
Galahad dosent respond.

Hmmm, would be cool to play this game again, its been 20 years....

The last slave was 1.3 by Bored Seal. Download and re-image (using WinUAE + IPF?)

Try adding "noresint" tool type?

I will try that ( but i am so busy now )

In LEANDER and BEAST 2 ( all from psygnosis ) the "noresint" tooltype was not a sucess.

Same happend in all those games. You press a button ( besides the Quit key ) and BAM =
AMIGA resets

Report the crashes as bugs on the WHDload Mantis against a particular Amiga configuration. Give as much detail as you can.

Maybe WEPL could talk you through making some sort of debug logs so that it can be understood why it happens.

I am very surprised that a keyboard adapter could cause such crashes.
