Tosec files on the zone
I often find it confusing to see tosec adfs along with non tosec files on the zone. Sometimes the filename can be a clue but not only tosec looking file is actually tosec and not all uploaders care to explain whether a file is tosec or not, My suggestion is to ask the uploader whether a file is tosec or not before uploading, with a selection gadget somewhere near browse button and the description box of the zone. Then the uploaded file may be shown with a little tosec icon near it. What do you say?

The best idea in most cases would be to post NO tosec files into the zone at all..
Instead find one that has not been renamed yet. Test and rename it to what you think it should be and then post it. If its renamed wrong then Im sure someone is going to say so. I sure one of the tosec guys on this board would add it to their list once its been ok'd. |

It may be confusing, but it is convinient to be able to upload whatever files are needed. I guess the zone is not a place to make newer Amiga dumps available, but a tool to help new and old Amiga users or lamulators, making available whatever files are needed/helpfull.

Many people do not know or do not care about TOSEC. Some even hate its naming convention (ok, maybe they do no hate, but just refuse to use it). And not all TOSEC is easily available. Emuchina has closed public downloads, aceroms never worked anymore... planetemu I don't know, probably they are up... and IRC has looooooong queus
I see no problem in uploading files people need, even if they are in TOSEC. If the file isn't TOSECified, the the uploader may say it, so that every rom... erh.. game collector can download it. If nothing is said, just assume it is Tosec. |

Ok, then a non tosec file can be explicity labeled as Non-Tosec.

How about RCK codes an upload scanner that converts any TOSEC uploads into a link to How to Find the ADF You're Looking For?

I thought this would be a trouble you wouldn't want to mess with but yes, it's a better solution. |
