Yorkshire Amiga Curry!

Mercilessly stolen from taj's post on amiga.org - it's a reminder for all!

We are organising a little get together with like minded people on the 20th February 2010 (less than 2 weeks away!).

Its nothing heavy to start with, just a curry at Akbars in Bradford, West Yorkshire to get everyone one together and discuss what everyone would like to see/do (ie meetings, renting a hall/church to setup machines and other possible future events). Everyone is welcome and I most certainly hope that you can come

The original Amibay thread is here: http://amibay.com/showthread.php?t=4264

Details of the night are below:

Date: Saturday Feb 20th, approx 6.30pm
Venue: Akbars, Leeds Road in Bradford.

Akbars is easily accessible from Bradford city centre (its literally up one long road from the centre, and you can easily get to it from Leeds or the Leeds/Bradford airport. Or the M62. And there is a Travel Lodge about 10 or 15 minutes walking distance from there too. (Travel Lodge link: http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_a...p?hotel_id=117 )

Restaurant website: http://www.akbars.co.uk/

Restaurant guide (with links to a map): http://www.restaurant-guide.com/akba...t-bradford.htm

Address: 1276 Leeds Road, Thornbury, Bradford, BD3 8LF
Google maps link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=BD3+...0.068901&hl=en

I hope as many of you as possible can come, I can vouch for the fantastic food and I reckon a bunch of you guys would make great company

Im hoping that by the end of the night we will have a good idea of whether people want to make it a regular thing, possibly at a hall somewhere so we can all bring our Migs and play Sensi!!

So, if you are interested and want to come, please can you post your intention on this thread Closer to the date Ill make a lot of noise and PM the people who have shown interest so we have an idea of numbers

See you there!

Cool! This is about 8 miles from where I live!

Silly question perhaps, but how will we all know who we all are? Do we turn up holding an Amiga? Or do I just head for the table with the most geeks?

I'll consult the ball and chain tonight to see if I can get my playing out slip signed!

Steve.

Yorkshire, Yorkshire?

Oh dear I have heard all about that place, I believe most folk there take illegal substances orally and even did before they were invented, ahh yes I have seen the Goodies on TV and the prolific use of.............. E by GUM

Sorry folks I couldn't resist, time methinks for my medication

I hope you have a great night out and that the curry only burns on the way in have a good time and no saying mines bigger than yours as other patrons might not realise you are talking about hard drives

Excellent, excellent!

@ipod_sock: we'll undoubtedly do something for the 25th, even if it's just have a curry at akbars and raise our glass to the memory of Jay Miner
@stephen: good luck! My wife has given up worrying about this sort of thing now
@seuden: if you've got a letter from your mum, you're excused
@Paul_S, is that an "I'm coming" response? Never can tell with your outbursts

I'll be in Helsinki on Thursday and Friday, and am coming back friday evening with Easyjet: let's just hope that they actually get the flight working

Never been to the Akbars in Bradford, but knowing the one in Leeds I'm gutted I can't make that date.

I'm a Southerner exiled to North Leeds and have already arranged to catch up with friends from back home that weekend. If you ever did this again, count me in.

Also, nothing wrong with a coffee in Sainsburys!

Looks like there's only three of us going, and I could do with actually spending some time with my family as I'm away on business for a few days... Looks like we'll postpone this for the moment.
