Unknown floppies: how to identify them using their checksums/CRC32?
Hi,
I have a problem with some floppies of mine: I don't know how to identify them. They are not bootable disks or disk#1 of a game/program, else I would have the name . Sometimes they have a disk name (e.g. "PSFonts" or "Disk3") but this won't help me... Also, I tried examining all their content with my hex editor, but didn't find any helpful ASCII sequence. Given their CRC32/checksum (and hoping their were not tampered with), is there a way to identify them (fast enough) on TOSEC or other similar archives? |

This thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=42963 has helped me identify just under 32,000 of my ADFs.
Still got a few to go but it's a good start Dave G |

If "ClrMAMEPro" cant identify some disks, try to unpack data, which contains the disk, and then you can scan unpcked data for ASCII sequence.
