You have a slash there after grandis.nu. remove that. Stop using a webbrowser to access FTP sites as well as support for it is gone. Grab filezilla or prefered FTP client.

50k/Sec limit on the anonymous "ftp" account temporarily removed.

I will be monitoring the bandwidth usage of a couple of days to see if this is acceptable.
I've been thinking of this for quite some time as I have 10Gigabit and it feels like the 50k/Sec limit is a way to punish anonymous users for not contributing to EAB.

Well, we technically have nothing to do with EAB anymore so why should I care really =)

Also, I constantly have 5-20 anonymous users online, hacking away at 50k/Sec. If I could make them finish their downloads faster, perhaps the number of them go down.

If this becomes permanent, I will most likely remove the 50 post limit on the EAB forum for creating an upload account, but we'll see. I don't want to have to monitor uploads for someone using us a pirate site or something. We've been lucky to avoid that so far since any upload accounts are connected to your EAB forum account.

I'll keep you all updated.

Ok, confirmed. I suspect the problem being that we have now over 77million rows in the database that contains uploads/downloads, meaning a total of 77million files have been transferred since 2018.

The database have simply become to large for a query of this type, even with indexes. It works, but it takes so long to get the information that the website times out when waiting for it.

I'll come up with a solution. I think I have to split up the table into separate ones.

If we have a MariaDB expert in the ranks here, I'd love to hear from you =)

Try it again now. All uploads are now synced every 10 minutes into another table in the database that is not cluttered with millions of rows of downloads from the anonymous 'ftp' account.
In other words, there is a max 10 minute delay after a file have been uploaded until it appears in the search.

I've updated the first post in this thread. It had gotten a bit cluttered IMO.

I've also moved a few items from your upload folders into their respective locations. I've deleted someones old tosec collection, including kickstarts, from the upload dir.. bad boys =)

Nah, I just meant that I could do my own rules really. EAB forum and TheZone is still a very good source of information and I'll continue to backup TheZone as long as they let me.

We are still on very good terms so, all good!

Old links still works as well for now as I guess they are widespread. In the future they might go away but no rush from my side.
