Retro, i have been able to get the message : "you lost everything but your score".

For that to happen, Chosen must defeat you. This message does not appear if you fail the secret of the drum !

Well, then your screenshots in the zip archive are quite pointless, if you want to prove that the Amiga version is actually bugless.

I watched your video. The ST version lacks the drum event, and your player is killed by chozen.

Here are all of the situations.

Chozen beats you.
- What's meant to happen: "You lost everything but your score"
- What happens: "You lost everything but your score"
- Working

You beat Chozen. Drum appears. You succeed with the secret of the drum so you hit Chozen and win.
- What's meant to happen: "Just in time - you saved the day"
- What happens: "Just in time - you saved the day"
- Working

You beat Chozen. Drum appears. You stand there and do nothing, thus failing the secret of the drum. Chozen hits you.
- What's meant to happen: "You lost everything but your score"
- What happens: "Just in time - you saved the day"
- Not Working

As I said, I've tested this on the ST version before and it works properly in all 3 situations. It's just the Amiga version where it fails in one of the situations.

I haven't finished my complete analysis, but from the code I've looked at, a branch is always taken that triggers "Just in time - you saved the day" after the drum.

It's a bug. Simple as that

It has to be fixed via whdload.

I missed this part of your reply, DrBong. Yeah, there definitely is a standalone Ozi Soft release. I own it but it's at my parent's place so I haven't had access to it in a while (different country ). Whether it's any different to the other releases, I can't say.

I finally got off my butt and finished it: http://whdload.de/games/KarateKid2.html. Thanks to BarryB for the IPF. It was invaluable!

Among other things, I've fixed the ending text problem (always saying "JUST IN TIME - YOU SAVED THE DAY" even when you lose) as well as restoring the text "Now focus power for effect" before the ice bonus level. This never worked in the Amiga version, but it did in the Atari ST one. We can't have that!

I'm too lazy to build an ADF with the changes at the moment so anyone is welcome to. I've heavily commented the slave source

That's good news for WHDLoad users. Having said that, I am sure a 100% ADF bearing those fixes from Radertified would please many fans of the game too.
