WTB: 1240 or 1260 without cpu
Hello.
I have posted a thread in the "swap" section about this but i would also like to leave the door open for a regular buy. Basically what i want is a board without cpu (working ofc) to put my new rev 6 cpu in. No insane prices, try to be moderate and think of my starving kids...who need food on the table, and daddy to be happy with his amiga ![]() I could also buy a fully working board but it would be kinda waste since i need to solder another cpu on it. I might be over my head here but you can never be a winner if you do not try at least. Regards Marcus |

I thought we'd already had this conversation? No-one is going to sell you a cheap 1240.
In particular they won't/can't sell you a 1240 without a CPU because they are soldered in place (i.e. non removable). Someone would have to be half way through the upgrade process. Face facts, you're gonna have to go to a few more car boot sales and pray ![]() Or perhaps learn Polish and look through the Polish equivalent of eBay. A few years ago the Pol's had lots of high end Amiga stuff which they were selling for next to nothing but I think they have wisened up now... either that or unscrupulous guys like Martin-Flash have bought it all to sell on for 10x price on eBay UK |

Well i would think that there are a few out there that do not want to pay 300€ for a 1240.
And there might be some owners that will sell it lower then that. If buyer's refuse to pay insane amounts tor these cards, prices will come down. I am in no hurry, i can wait for the right card for the right price. |

I obtained my Apollo 1260 in an eBay auction for an A1200 tower that was collect only, and it was only 45 miles from where I live. Because the buyer wouldn't post, I won the auction for £207. Obviously not many people nearby wanted it. I sold the tower and all other parts and almost made back the full auction price, effectively getting the 1260 for free. I was so chuffed, and as a bonus it kept the missus off my back too! ![]() Steve. |

i was actually looking for a auction simular to that.
sometimes the complete deal will be cheaper then the accelerator card by itself. will look for some tower conversions and see what it might bring. |
