Is there any way I can update/maintain "Commodore_Amiga/Retroplay" folder directly on the new ftp like I could on the old one hosted by Magix ?

It would make life a heck of a lot easier for me and others downloading multiple archives.

@andersbm - Which zip was it and how did you extract, in Windows or Amiga environment ?
Keep in mind that you need to extract the .lha archives on Amiga side, real Amiga or emulation.
Don't use 7zip or WinRAR, chances are you will extract faulty/corrupted files.

Ah, I see! I unzip in Windows with the standard unzipping tool. I tried downloading from you several times now and unfortunately got errors every time.

Have now downloaded Magic_8 Zip file from the EAB FTP server and this seems to work splendid! :-D

So, hopefully I'm aaaaal good. Next time is just to figure out, which games can play on my Amiga 600 and which ones cannot ;-)

Thanks again for an awesome pack!

Oh and by the way - very novice question here - but: When I unzip the finall install pack a lot of the games are zipped as well. Should I unzip these in Windows, or can I do this from within Workbench 3.1. on my Amiga?

All best

They were packed on Amiga side and should be extracted on Amiga side.

@TCD - Thanks.
Perhaps a clean up of duplicate files you can get from WHDownLoad is in place ?

Det var så lidt.

I recommend you install Bloodwychs most excellent ClassicWB setup.
It comes with an awesome DirOpus setup which makes handling .zip, .lha, .lzx archives a walk in the park.
It's what I use for packing and extracting all files.

[edit]
I'm in the process of updating the files on the FTP in my old folder.

Only games released after Crash Garrett and Rock 'n Roll will be uploaded, you can get all previous games from WHDownLoad.

[edit 2]
All done.

Bloodwychs ClassicWB setup seems very cool indeed I'm just a little confused as to wether it's a fully working Workbench install or "just" a "skin" with extra graphics, software, updated tools etc.? Can you enlighten me?

It's a fully working setup with tons of great additions like DirOpus, NewIcons, ADF transfer tools etc.
You just need to activate it using your own WB3.0 or WB3.1 disks at first boot.

Sweeeeet! :-)

Now, I just need to figure out, which version I should download. My Amiga 600 has loads of extra stuff, but since updating to WB 3.1. I cannot seem to find Sys Config? Need to know how many RAM I have in order to settle for LITE or FULL version.

So where is the Sys Config on WB 3.1?

Hi again. Have to wait with the ClassicWB install, untill I have time on my hands again. Meanwhile, I would like to be able to unzip/unpack some of the awsome games from you pack. If I should download an easy unzipping software from Aminet, which one is recommendable?

And as for my recent post: Yes indeed, I did mean SysInfo and not SysConfig :-D Thank you for reading my mind ;-)

These should do the trick.
http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha_68k - for .lha
http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/Unzip512x - for .zip

Hi again.

Sorry to keep asking about these quite "basic" questions, but I do have some difficulties getting ClassicWB to work proberly. My issue is, that I do not have a possibility to install WinUAE because the only Windows machine I have access to is my workplace computer and my personal profile prohibits me from installing any new software

Hence, I cannot get my hands on the system.zip, which I need to create in WinUAE from the system.hdf file that comes with ClassicWB 68K. Veeeery frustrating.

So my question is: Is there any other way to create this system.zip?

I have workbench 3.1. installed on my Amiga 600 and I have all the original install floppys etc.

Also created a ClassicWB 68K "Real Amiga Install" boot floppy disk, from the ADF provided. So all seems to be ready-set-go for me, exept for that darned system.zip file, which I just cannot create myself

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Anders, Copenhagen.

Which ClassicWB setup do you use ? Lite, Full, ADV ?

I can make the system.zip for you, then all you need is a set of Workbench disks to finalize installation on your Amiga.

Untested, but worth a try: http://fs-uae.net
Not exactly sure if ClassicWB explicitly needs WinUAE.

Thanks a bunch Retroplay

However, Steve over at Amiga.org just helped me out and send me the system.zip (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthre...618#post748618)

So right now I am looking at a Amiga 600, which happily runs ClassicWB Lite super fast! Wohhooo!!! Much success and happiness in Copenhagen.

Now I just need to figure out, which of the many fantastic games in yours and Killer Gorillas gamepacks will run on my A600.

Just can't wait!!!

Once again, massive shout outs to your project and your keen help.

Hope to be able to spread my own knowledge some day, when some other poor bastard is struggeling with their A600 setup

All best
Anders, Copenhagen.
