If you would like it to look like this:

you should have MagicWB style set.

Check in WBDock icon tooltips in WBStartup whether STYLE=A or STYLE=M.

AmiClassic menu attached by you in the screenshot, is not WBDock but it is Amistart, basically it is the Standard Doc Menu of AfA OS, Windows Start style.

Among Other Things on Coffin they cut out part of the menu and used icons without transparencies.

You can see instead Amistart With transparencies and quality DualPNG Icons on my AfA One screenshot

Seriously?

Is that what you think AmiStart is?

AmiStart was in Coffin r56, r61 version has WBDock.
On my screenshot i moved WBDock from Coffin to my system for an example.
You don't need to show me what WBDock looks like because I've been using it myself for a very long time.

Update: I checked Coffin's changelog:
Quote:
r59 :
(29.01.21) Removed AmiStart
(29.01.21) Added WBDock2 (Thomas Rapp)

excuse me, I didn't update Coffin anymore because it's a system I don't care about, it fooled me because they used the same Icons used on Amistart.

The video was addressed to "npagonis73"

Hello everyone

If you check on the lower right part of the screen in the attached photo, even though I use Style=M, I still get frame around the icons. See also the attached photo with the icon info tooltypes I use.

Thanks for the input and help.

You have to use AmiDock Style and as backgrounds of clean single color images without shades or stripes !

You have brushed_metal.brush loaded and those frames are in that brush. You would have to load some transparent brush, but I don't know if WBDock allows such things. You would have to ask Thomas.

Yes you can also use backgrounds with transparency effect, see screenshot, or if you don't add any image it becomes completely transparent and will have as background the one used by Workbench.

Sorry, but in this screenshot I don't see transparency.

Point is to be able to get this effect...:

...but in other styles than Funny.

In my opinion that is not transparency, it is just background elimination, on OS3 there are other Menu Docs that do that.

I by transparency I mean that the Menu background matches the workbench background, meaning that if the background is red the menu should have red transparencies, an example you can see from this old video of mine (final part of the video):

You can see it better here:

Each of us has a different opinion on this, and let it remain so
What you call background elimination, I call transparency. Why?

In my earlier image, I set transparency to 0% (icon tooltypes), eliminating background
This option in WBDock is called TRANSPARENCY not BACKGROUND ELIMINATION.

For a long time I have been looking for a dock that has three features: lightweight, transparent, with ability to hide dragbar. WBDock offers only half of that: dragbar hiding and transparency, but only in Funny style. Unfortunately, this style is 'heavy and weird' for my Blizzard 030 and non RTG system.
There was already a light in tunnel when DockBot appeared. I was hoping to convince author of some ideas, but unfortunately this project died. So hope remained in WBDock, that TRANSPARENCY will one day make its way to other styles.

Saluti

In fact transparency as a percentage, at 100 % there the background disappears, then everyone is free to call it whatever they want

On my AROS One Distribution, besides Amistart I installed BoingIconBar, because some users did not like Amistart because it has a Windows style.

I don't know if there is an OS3 version of BoingIconBar ! I know DockBot, also I had given some advice to the developer, there are other Docs, see screenshot.

AROS One x86: Switch AmiStart / BoingIconBar and features

In AmiDock style you can "eliminate" the background if you specify a non-existing file as background image. This is an on/off option, not a percentage.

And you can get rid of the 3D frame around the dock by setting the NOBORDER tooltype. Apparently this is not yet available in the menu.

If you select "save settings" from the menu once, you'll find all available tooltypes in the icon, also those which are not reachable via menu.

I thought I had tried all combinations and couldn't get the same effect with other styles
Now that I have read your post, it worked (I toggle PATTERN in tooltypes).

Thank you for your help

I know
I even tried it, but I had MagicWB style enabled and even when I deleted all brushes, background still appeared, so I concluded that it probably doesn't work and didn't try it on other styles.
Mea culpa

Summary: npagonis73 seems to have a solution to his problem

Thomas one quick question...

While transparency works just fine in my Docks, the icons get a little bit jagged in shadows comparing to the original ones (see screenshot bellow). Am I doing something wrong?

Using MagicWB style and a custom brush I made to match my windows backdrop

WBDock uses an on/off mask. It does not support alpha blending.

That is the only minus point I see with WBDock Everything else is top notch... if it would support alpha blending on the icons it would be perfect. I am using it neverthenless though
