Lets assume they hadn't lost the RTL source code

And lets assume they could afford $50k/year per engineer (the original designers or someone equally competent) to finish the RTL design, verify the design and synthesise it for the technology of the day, physically lay it out to meet timing and power etc.

And lets assume they could afford the $100,000+ cost of the software required to do this (Modelsim, Synopsys, Tetramax etc.)

It would probably the ~$500,000 NRE to make the silicon masks which are used to make the chips.

ANSWER : Money! (Or rather the lack of it)

I would think because of Commodores bankruptcy, caused the original shelving of the AAA Chipset, and with the growing GFX capabilities of the ever growing PC at the time, when Escom took over, the AAA chipset was being overtaken and wasn't worth continuing to support or even inject the cash to produce.

First AAA was outdated before 1995, second ESCOM was same type company as MediaMarkt today - no experience with R&D, just badging OEM products with ESCOM logo and Amiga technology was not important to ESCOM (ESCOM bought Commodore as asset with widely recognizable brand - perhaps to extend own business to USA - Commodore was US brand and USA is a huge market - European companies dreaming about entering in this area with business)

Also, AAA was not any way close to being finished when C= went under, actually they barely managed to get a picture out of it.. They might as well have started from scratch.

The argument that, which says that AAA was outdated in 95, it seems absurd.
Just look at what you is capable of making TBL with AGA

Hi, Well my plan to chill got wrecked, Been offered a great job in London so relocating down there ready for the job starting the 1st July lol. Will be cool being a londoner though!

As for the lyrics on the schematics, they are as follows:
CPU Connector: Survive, Stay Alive, Through the Thick and the Thin. (Jiummy Buffett, Survive)
Gary: There's something going on that wasn't here before (REM, Strange)
Clocks/Logic: Head like a hole, black as your soul, Id rather die than give control (Nine inch nails)
KS Simm/power: I'm ready, I'm ready for the laughing gas (U2 Zoo station)
Andrea: So now you see the light, stand up for your right (Bob Marley, Get up Stand Up)
Mary: You were pumping iron as I was pumping irony (Robert Plant, Heaven Knows)
Linda: Tonight, we can be as one, tonight (U2. Sunday bloody Sunday)
Monica: Better days are comin', We're gonna wake up and break this curse. (Southside Johnny)
Video slots: I Don't know my right from my left, or my right from wrong
Audio mixing: Can't ya hear me knocking (The Rolling Stones)
CIA's: I call that a bargain, the best I ever had (The Who)
CIA No 3: It's just a box of rain, I don't know who put it there. (Grateful dead, box of rain)
Zorro slots: You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. (The Beatles)
Buster/Bridgette: You're just like crosstown traffic... (Jimi hendrix)
SCSI: You're the bone machine (Pixies)
Ramsey & Ram : I Don't remember, I don't recall. I have no memory of anything at all (Peter Gabriel, I dont remember)

Vitux: It was a very expensive design, using lots of phase shifted clocks to get extra speed. Technology started really moving fast around then and this sort of design would never have won sadly. There were some good ideas in it though, they were going CPU independant which would have lead to a PCI style bus and a SLI style video system for those wanting high performance. Would have been cool to see where Amiga ended up!
