DangerMouse - Text Adventure - Working Demo
I have been working on this game on and off for a couple of years now - it is basically based on the Choose your own adventure books from the 1980s with DM themed graphics - you can download a working demo of it from my website at
You just need to copy the folder over to your harddrive and click on the game. I played it for the first time on my Amiga 1200 last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by how it looked on the big screen. Unfortunately, my blog is currently not able to receive comments so I would be grateful to receive feedback in terms of whether you would like me to tidy up the presentation and correct the following
The game can be completed - there is a cheat / playtesting option - press 9 as your choice and you can enter a location to jump to e.g. entering A190 takes you to room 190 If there is interest in the game - I could complete amendments over xmas holiday. This game is no longer available and will not be completed to avoid any potential copyright issues- Last edited by amigapd; 28 January 2015 at 23:11. I like it. It's fun to play that game and solve the puzzle.
Thank you and I hope you find the time for some improvements. |

Wow! Any form of text adventure is something to be encouraged! Great job!
I see most of the work requires manually formatting a lot of text for a lot of locations. Have you considered adding a word-wrapping routine to do the job? Just in case it helps I've posted in the AMOS coders section the one I use for my text adventirung projects. See here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=987937&postcount=1 It's really ugly coding, but this, or something similar, could be useful to save you a lot of tedious manual work and give you some extra-time for the rest of your game. I really hope we have a final version of this Dangermouse game! ![]() -- |

Thanks everyone for the positive comments - the game has sort of been stuck in limbo but these comments have encouraged me to think about returning to finish this off during the up coming Xmas break. |
