What is the technically most impressive A500 game?
What do you think? Which game makes the most out of the A500 hardware? I always thought that the parallax scrollers of Mr Nutz and Turrican III were quite the bomb. Also the general speed of Mr Nutz and the end of level bosses which seem to be zoomed in realtime were really impressive so my bet would be that it doesn't get any better than Mr Nutz and Turrican III, from a technical achievement point of view. Of course the gameplay in Nutz becomes a bit monotonous because of the endless number of huge levels, but technically it is my best A500 game.
What do the coders here think? What's the number 1 A500 game in terms of technical achievements? |

I always fond the Psygnosis titles to be top notch graphically and musically, but not necessarily game wise.

Predictable vote for Lionheart. Thalion at the top of their game, squeezing eveything out of the 500 it had. And for once, there was actually a playable Amiga platformer under the flashy graphics.

I would say the first game I thought pushed the A500 and astounded me with amazement was Stardust. Amazing pre-rendered sprites that move fluidly. Then there's the mind-blowing 3D sequences...

Lionheart, Apidya, Ambermoon. Ruff'n Tumble? Great game, but it hurts my eyes in 25fps (or less).

I was very impressed by Agony, back in the day .
Dragon's Lair I, also, looked incredible! (graphic wise, not game wise, of course) |
