I have 200+ NBS (Newport Business Supplies) PD Disks.

Ok guys after what has seems to be have been like a decade of searching, I have finally stumbled upon some bundles of NBS (Newport Business Supplies) Public Domain disks.

People may remember me posting about NBS stuff back along:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...&highlight=nbs

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...&highlight=nbs

So I am going to image these, I have a nice A1200 fully setup ready to go. I picked some disks at random and they imaged fine.

I notice with these things, some were just plain old pd releases the same as all the other PD outfits back in the day! But some have been farted about with and have NBS logos added etc. Some may even be rare for all I know...

As I image them, all details will be logged etc. Shall I go ahead and upload them to the eab ftp or is it better to list them all first?

I think you should upload them right away, but please keep us posted about the contents

Just tested one in WinUAE.

M311 - The INXS Remixes by Lions. Trying to find any trace of it on the web, so far nothing? Unless I am not looking hard enough.

Is it worth me scanning these as well? virtually all have original labels intact. Apart from two where somebody decided to put on bog standard blank labels for some reason? tried to remove em but gave up (pita lol)

Hi I saw your original post and joined this forum just to say I have 64 original NBS pd discs. All in their original packaging. Only ever been run up once as I used to make an immediate disc to disc backup copy. Don't know if you ever discovered a disc catalogue ...but can quote the disc numbers if of interest? Did some Googling ...but I am afraid imaging is probably beyond me ( - Oh, also got a few Kadsoft and more cover discs from Amiga Format than I can count!

Just been through and these are the ones:

NBS DISC NUMBERS: U257, U258, U259, U640, U349, 632, U242, U214, U215, U222, U220, U619, U618, U344, U270, D347, D342, D074, D545, D537, G131, G136, G112, G113, G109, G138, G137, G126, G133, U266, L004, G163, A115, G199, U609, U608, U607, PU192, PU115, L010, L002, LPD8, E008, A097, U325, G155, F62, G129, D153, G117, U241, U226, M172, U264, U284, G153, U302, U304, U246, U301, G152, F251, U321, F243.

Just dug a little deeper into the file boxes and found I have catalogues for:
NBS V0.92.1 - (I guess 1990'ish),
Kadsoft - dated Oct 1990 (incl Fish disks),
17 Bit Software - dated Aug 1990,
Public Dominator - Cat 8 dated18.10.91.
All load up ...but the Dominator a little reluctant!

Excellent stuff

Would love to have Adf images of all those disks!

There is something of interest though... Somebody on this forum has the entire NBS Library on CD's.

I did attempt to help out as there were problems getting the catalogue/database program running. I managed to make a small bit of progress but hit a brick wall, life got in the way etc.

I will try again soon seeing as the Christmas break is coming up.

Well Electroblaster pleased to say the Amiga and peripherals all appear to be working fine, so over next few weeks will do a bit of research on making ADF images and see what can be done! Its been a while ). If you need the NBS catalogue can send you a disc copy by post if you pm a PO box or address. I did see that post - unfortunately life has a way of doing that, sigh....
