New Accelerator for WHDload

Hi everone, Im about to buy a new accelerator for my A1200. Im only buying it to play games so budget i tight.
Will the ACA1221EC do the trick or would I do better to safe up and buy a more powerful card?
Is there a combination card where you get accelerator and scandubbler? Im having trouble getting RGB cable to work on my samsung lcd tv

if your just after WHDload then anything with a bit of fast ram will do. A slightly faster 020 or 030 will help speed things along. an 020 should be just fine.

1221ec is plenty for gaming!
No combo cards unfortunately.
If the tv has multiple scart inputs only one of them might accept RGB signals. Edit: On my Samsung only SCART #1 takes RGB.

Agree, the 1221ec will cover 99% of your WHDLoad needs. Some adventure games might need more memory to use PRELOAD with WHDLoad, but they usually have their own HD installers which you can use instead and then 8MB fast will be more than enough.

My samsung is a 3 year old LED LCD. It has one scart input named "EXT (RGB)" but when I use a RGB cable the screen just turns from black to white.

Ordered a new cable from Amiga Kit maybe that a better quality than the one I have. Such a shame if it wont work. Regular composite scart is not good...

Perfect thanks for all the help guys!
Im going for the cheap one now and maybe I invest in a Vampire when Apollo releases their A1200 version. Heard they will support HDMI for classic games in the near future?

They do plan on implementing AGA compatible functionality into the Vampire, called SAGA. It is not released yet though and since the Vampire is pretty much a volunteer-based effort, I would not count on this functionality until it is actually present and working. What you do get with the Vampire at the moment is very nice however, and since the V1200 is not right around the corner we may see some development in the SAGA area by then.

For gaming and WHDLoad, the current Vampire does not really offer any usable extra features compared to a plain 020 or 030 accelerator so you're just paying 2-3 times as much with hardly any benefits.. Some adventure games can run in RTG mode, and you can run games like Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle etc. through ScummVM.
