I just gave a try to Xenophobe (one disk'd Subway version) and it seems game is missing sfx altogether, meaning the music plays with alone even though options are set with sfx ON music OFF.

i have played the original ipf
prolly something has been left out of that one disked crack?
maybe the other 2 disks cracks behaves like the original ipf, with also sfx working

Indeed, 1 disk'd version has sfx removed, cracktro text makes no mention of this. 2 disk versions work as intended, so yeah Xenophobe qualifies.

Burton Bird, with music on there's very little sfx left (just a bell to announce birdie activates a conveyor belt).

Projectyle (EA) qualifies (choosing either sfx or music can be done in-game with F2).

Has Beavers not been mentioned yet? It makes you choose between music and sound effects on the main menu. Which is a crying shame for a game released so late in the lifecycle. It must have been part of the last batch of games I ever got for the Miggy. And what a disappointment it was.

Star Goose! qualifies (choosing either sfx or music can be done in-game with F9). If you just found out about that shmup, you will want to press F9 once the muzak starts.

Ah, but most of the games I have been mentioning recently were unknown to me until recently. What I did was browsing best EVER SINGLE DISK Amiga games thread, then picked up and loaded via Gotek each title that I didn't know about, or very vaguely (except Bone Cruncher, which won't load on ECS Amiga's unfortunately), kind of catching up with the lesser known hits here.
Probably will give Star Goose! a pass, a few interesting bits (palette cycling) but I don't like too much having to get very close to targets to shoot them, maybe deemed "realistic" considering the hilly terrain was taken into consideration by the game designers, but a bit annoying aspect tbh. Anyways...

Ok, here's another one : (fixed version of) Sky High Stuntman (hit spacebar after the high score table is displayed)

Forgotten Worlds is a weird case, because the menu has separate keys to select music or sound effects, but both always say 'On' and when you start the game you just get the one you selected last (without the game having told you which). The fact that they didn't bother converting the whole game (despite the box implying that they did) despite it being a May release implies typical US Gold arcade conversion laziness. Tried the VF crack on a 512+512 1.2 config.

That's depressingly sloppy re Forgotten Worlds menu!

Thanks guys, really appreciate all the help with the list. Honestly never expected it to get even half this big!

That's nothing, the copyright text at the bottom of the loading screen calls it 'Fogotten Worlds'. Arc Developments later called this their best product, by the way.

Urgh I don't know whether to laugh or cry :-D

I guess they had no spellcheckers... but they surely had some testers!
