Quick review of the "The C64 Joystick":

The stick is very "stiff" (nearly no freedom of movement) compared to "real" amiga joysticks from the past. You can only move the stick a few millimeter into every direction.

Has the "Competition Pro Extra USB-Joystick" the same "limitations"?

I also miss the common "suction cups". You always have to hold tight the bottom part to play proper.

But sometimes the joystick works better than the gamepad, e.g. on Jump & Run games like Twinworld.. also on Zool - really hard/impossible to clip the wall before the bees are appearing etc.

I had the same issue with the competition pro BS which also has a harsh metallic springy feel to it. Unusable IMO.

I bought the C64 Joystick and my expectations were really high but if I knew it was pretty much the same technology as the Speedlink joystick I would have never bought it. Very stiff, tiring after a long use.

They should release a new firmware allowing adaptors to be used. Tank mouse apart, the playing devices chosen (gamepad and joystick) are a big fail in my opinion.

Just buy an adapter that IS supported and use your favourite 9-pin joystick.

If you need a decent joystick, definitely make yourself an adapter ;-)

Would anyone on here have any links to download/torrent the latest version of the Amiga Mini Arcade Game Selector please?

I have version 1.1 installed, but understand there's a v1.3 out there somewhere, but I can't find any valid links.

Cheers.

Edit: I've tried the links on the first page of this thread, to no avail.

Thanks (again) to TCD, and Turran for hosting, I now have both AGS v1.5 and Aminimiga v202F installed, side by side, on a single USB stick.

For anyone interested and who might be on older version(s) like I was, the present versions now share some files, so that they install complimentarily to each other, taking up less space but still containing all the same files as before.

It's a cracking setup for A500 mini owners.

I was wondering about something on which I did not (yet) find a conclusive answer.

I am running an A500+, A1200 and A4000 distro on my A500 mini. Works great: Green led operates when floppy/HD is doing read/write actions, floppy sound emulation works and it even closes the A500 mini with red LED turning off (something that is some kind of issue with aMiniMiga and Pandory).

So now I am basically stuck on one thing left to fix: The floppy R/W setting.
DF0, DF1, etc are always Read Only in Amiberry on the Mini. When trying to turn it to R/W, a message pops up that system permissions don't allow writing to ADF.

Did anyone manage to circumvent those permissions with some kind of voodoo in the .uae or otherwise? Or is it simply impossible because of bare Linux permissions at runlevel?

EDIT:
Okay, feel free to kick me

Not sure what came into me to be this stupid, I stared for hours on end to the configfile why I could not write to an ADF image. But yeah, when mounting a zipped ADF file, it really is kind of hard to set R/W permissions :^)

Adding the ADF file first fixes the problem.

Exactly! I don't know what came into me to mount a zipfile instead... Should have known by now, after using winUAE for about 15 years or so. Crazy how the brain can get stuck on missing the complete obvious thing to do

I am just getting back into A500 mini having since realised that some of the issues putting me off (e.g. Pinball Fantasies AGA random slow down) can be resolved with some config tweaks.

How did you manage the above? Very interested! Full read/write floppy&HD and light turning off would be amazing.

The problem is, that one file is more 4 GB large, but the filesystem for the A500 Mini should be FAT32, which means it is not possible to copy the file over to the USB stick.
Did anyone experience the same issue or maybe I missinterpreted something ?

Download the A500 mini version. The other versions are optimized for their systems.

Got a 32 Gig USB stick
Put Aminmiga on it (took hours)

But the Mini does not see it
Reformated, tried again = The Same

WTF ?!?!

#EDIT#
Found a 16 Gig drive that is recognized
Copying files over now

#EDIT 2#
Did not like their Workbench so put my own on ---
But whenever I launch anything, it drops back to the Carousel
