Was "Johan Lindahl" the coder of this game a former scener called "Sauron" and member of the groups Miracle, Company, Digitech and Fairlight?

Yes.

Several amiga games with scene participation were released this year. "Deep Core" came out from International Computer Entertainment, and was coded by Johan Lindahl (Sauron/Miracle), and featured music by Tomas Danko (Danko/Phenomena).

That's cool, but very strange stuff! I can remember being shown an early demo of "Deep Core" by an anonymous friend(!), who said "Ringo Star sent me this preview of a game he's been coding"... Are Sauron/Ringo the same person using 2 different handles, or did some wires just get crossed somewhere back in the day?!

I don't think that Sauron used also Ringo Starr handle. Main protection for this game was done by Peter Ljungstrand (Conqueror/QTX?). Maybe he used Ringo Starr handle before?

BTW. Do you still have preview of this game?

Ringo Starr was helping out on Pinball Dreams as I recall.

[Bumping an old thread...]

Ringo Star was the main cracker in Classic. I was probably the one who inspired him to get into cracking, and he showed a real talent for that trade. He is definitely not the same person as Sauron/Miracle. Ringo Star's real name is Bo-Staffan Lankinen, and yes, he worked for a while with (the ex-The Silents) guys at Digital Illusions with development of various games.

Cheers from Conqueror
