Is PCMCIA friendly only needed if 3.1 ROM? I read no issues with 3.0? Not sure about 3.1.4 though.

It does not matter what rom you have as PCMCIA uses the memory range to work when 8Mb is in use, hence why switching down to 4Mb allows the PCMCIA slot to work.

According to his post, Mequa seems to suggest 3.0 works.

Kickstart 3.0 does not have the feature that disables the PCMCIA slot when then second 4MB of 8MB is detected in Zorro-II address space (600000-9FFFFF).

I can confirm that on my memory expansion card (https://www.arananet.net/pedidos/pro...tram-for-1200/) in 8MB mode
does work with a CF and Kickstart 3.0 - however, it certain setup, see below.

If anybody wants to try it, I have created a CFD/FAT95 boot floppy to test this and to test CF card compatibility:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YZ...w1iTfdISmFE-tC

During my testing I found that there is something in ClassicWB LITE that is incompatible with this hardware setup - which I haven't figured out yet. But the boot floppy shows that CF and 8MB of (Zorro-II) Fast memory and Kickstart 3.0 will work.

As always thank you for the confirmation. This is good news as when I do eventually gather funds to buy an adaptor an 8MB will probably be what I go for as I just need it to run games rather than anything else.
