A3000 daughter board PCB?
Does a PCB project for A3000 daughter board exist? I have just got A3000 but without the daughter board. I would love to buy or build one.
Thanks |

you could ask matze on A1K forum. he occasionally posts here and on vogons. He made a replacement A3000 daughterboard with one extra ISA slot (useful for bridgeboards) and an integrated I2C fourth Zorro 3 slot.

In fact, you might be interested in signing up for his Checkmate case for A3000! |

If you were in the U.S., I've got a few spare daughterboards I'd be willing to part with. No idea what the postage would be to you, but I can look into it.

@SnakeGrunger @Vypr
Nice of you to do this. Question.. I have a rev7 DB in my A3000 (its a pretty early A3000 machine I think), any obvious benefits with rev 9? |

The main difference I can see in the rev 9 boards is the addition of a 74F74 chip on the video slot. |

My 3000 was dead when I bought it and I couldn't ressurect it. Previous owner had tried to fix it and did a bit of damage to it. Eventually harvested all the custom chips and built one of Chuckie's ReAmiga 3000 boards. Discovered along the say that several of the logic chips were dead but fortunately new ones were available. I'm doing a KiCAD version of the rev 9 daughterboard so it will be a completely new machine and am trying to make it an SMD version. |

Just finished doing a Rev 9 daughterboard in KiCAD, going to get some boards fabbed up and tested. If it works I'll make the files public in github.

I can imagine that replacement A3000 and A4000 daughter boards might come soon. I've been reading they Prometheus (open source Zorro III PPC to PCI bridge) had been ported to a newer FPGA and integrated into a daughter boards. But they will be much more than an original one

Could be totally wrong about this, but the new Prometheus daughter boards for 4000 and AA3000+ we are seeing use Altera cplds. I don’t think Xilinx ones are compatible with the firestorm firmware that enables dma. That was the case when I was looking at this a couple of years ago, dunno if it’s still the case. I haven’t seen a Prometheus board for 3000 though.

Ye, not sure I've seen too much for a pure A3000D, unfortunately...

I managed to get my 3000 DaughterPCB fabbed and built one of them.With only one minor issue, they seem to work OK.
The minor issue is hte notch on the top of hte board shoul dbe about 1mm deeper and 1mm further to the left of the board to allow the spacer to be used. Another potential issue is one of the signal lines coming from the edge connector has been accidentally routed to come out of the side of the connector instead of the top and could potentially cause a short. I've updated the Layout to remove this oversight. Otherwise the board tests fine with Zorro-III cards and works with a 2320 scandoubler in the video slot. The Files are now public in github for anyone who wants to make one. Link to Repository: https://github.com/iansbremner/Amiga-3000-Daughterboard |

Superb!
So the 2 issues are corrected in the shared GitHub data? |

yes, the current Layout in Github has the _XCLKEN track moved so it isn;t between two of the edge connector pads and the notch has been moved. Whether the notch is int he right place now isn't something I can check without having new boards made though. |
