Full listing of game copiers

These old timers are still used by dumpers and release groups.
They are especially cool for dumping prototypes recently found.

You had that? Cool!
Imagine back in 1994, when we were going to BBS to get Atari or C64 or Amiga games, and this thing comes out. And the new internet information suoper highway is burgeoning, and you have all thoughts of ideas on the way we get games.

Does the MagicDrive use standard Ms Dos standard Disks?

It would be nice to see one that could use Flash Cards or if you can use it with the Floppy Emulator.

I Love these things I remember as a kid I thought I was cool copying Amiga and ST games but my neighbor from Hong Kong had a MagicDrive Ive never figured the disk capacities 12MegaBit etc? but Street Fighter 2 Fitted on 2 disks and was a hell of a lot better than the Amiga Version

It certainly does I've successfully assembled some MD code, copied to a floppy and then run it on a real machine It also has a connector to run games from a PC over a parallel cable.

I used to have a Super Wildcard DX 32 (much like that pictured), either send via parrell cable, or use HD disks.

Sigh, those WERE the days.

via eBay .. but it is rare .. and they get pulled by eBay admin for being pir8 devices. I got a dx2 from there coz i noticed it advertised, and noted the sellers nick, then when it got pulled (after 4 hours) i contacted the seller and offered him a decent offline purchase price. He accepted. Wahoo0o!!
But i've seen them complete for over 200 sheets .. (approaching the new price back in the day)

£200 for a dx2? Blimey.. And they must be old by now too...

I used to have a pile of old snes copiers (super ufo/profighter/professor etc...) but sold them all. They were all unreliable imho - I used to fix them for friends - internally they tended to be very cheap; the voltage regulators always knackered (and was pretty dodgy to start with).

Best console backup unit I've ever seen was "Mr.Backup" or 'Z64' for the N64.

If that's directed at me, I'm afraid I'm only after a dx2 (SWC DX2) unit, 32 or 64M.

I'm not after just a DX unit.

You can sometimes find them on places like Tototek, if they happen to have them lying around... I got a Double Pro Fighter from them (after I sold all my copiers back in the day) for Snes/Megadrive. Admittedly it came wrapped in a carrierbag + sellotape all the way from Hong Kong, but it worked (and still does)!

Hah I remember doing exactly the same thing. I remember thinking it was brilliant - looking back, I am absolutely amazed that it ever worked...

I tried that too, and I remember that Sonic Wings got garbled graphics everytime I loaded the game from that disk.
Worked fine from regular HD disk.
So I can't recommend doing it.
Oh man, I really should not have sold that SWC DX.
