Post Amiga games that featured music by pop stars

Let's do another list...

What are the games that featured music made or inspired by known pop / rock artists?

The only exemple I know is Oops Up with music by german cult dance music band Snap!...

Maybe there is more?

Speedball 2 had music by Nation XII too, it was a deal that the Bitmap BRos. made with a record label, so their games would get music done by artists of that label.

I don't think Cannon Fodder had any music from famous artists, the songs were created for the game

Aladdin had the " A Whole New World" soundtrack in it.

And most every film license must've had a track originally composed by a known band (Back to the Future, etc.)

Renegade Software

were part owned by Rhythm King Records (Bomb the Bass, Tim Simenon, Betty Boo etc), which is why so many Rhythm King artists music was used. It was all kickstarted by The Bitmap Brothers using Bomb the Bass's tune on Xenon 2. Fact fans

Technically, it was John Carpenter's Assault On Precinct 13 tune and Bomb The Bass's remix!

Yeah, much of it isn't really a direct copy - more of a remix/homage.

The tune in Xenon 2 is called: "Megablast (Hip Hop on Precinct 13)"

Rise Of The Robots has music by Brian May. Although all I ever remember hearing on the CD32 version was a measly guitar chord or two.

Snap's music also appeared in another Demonware game, The Power.

Jean-Michel Jarre's Ethnicolor appeared in Captain Blood. I'm sure Jarre's music is in a few more Amiga games too.

Cool Coldcut & record companies

I am always a bit mystified by music provided by Coldcut. I know these artists produced two games on the Amiga: Top Banana and Fill 'em which used music from their EPs. I assumed their games were a marketing-trick to sell more music CDs.
Later CD-releases by Coldcut always were full with music-tracks, multimedia thingies and games by the way.

About Renegade and Rhythm King Records:
Renegade is not the first softwarecompany which originated from a records company. Delphine Software International (of Another World, Flashback, Moto Racer fame) is/was part of Delphine Records.
Fact is, both Renegade and Delphine have published the finest quality games on Amiga.

I always imagined what games would be created when software-daughters of little creative record-companies like Warp-records or Ninja Tune would come up with. Their games would be highly original but Joe Public wouldn't buy it because it does not look and play like Sonic, Quake or whatever.

Shameless plug: There is an interesting article on my site about Renegade which appeared in Zero magazine in 1990.

Funny, there's only one german name in this section:

It began with the many pseudonyms used by the two Frankfurt based producers and composers, Michael Muenzing and Luca Anzilotti. As DJ's they were only too aware of the preconceived notions about German productions and decided to list themselves in the credits of Snap's first album as Benito Benites and John "Virgo" Garrett III. The mystery continued with the comings and goings of the singers who occupied the stage next to rapper Turbo B, Jackie Harris, Penny Ford and Thea Austin, then by herself, Niki Harris - and also Paula Brown, alias Summer.

Believe, this band is german as fish & ships is...

But I've another one: Jumping Jack'Son covers a Stones song...

Was Mikie ever released on Amiga? It had "A hard day's Night" by the Beatles as its soundtrack.

MIKIE was only released on C64 by IMAGINE i think.

The ASSAULT tune was also digitized and use in a KINGSOFT game called PHALANX (a GALAGA clone).

The original FLASHBACK music was composed by Jan Hammer the musician of the legendary TV series MIAMI VICE.
