Use of addmem1 configuration option

It won't let me delete this message (which ended up being user error), but if anyone wants to know the syntax, adding (for example) 2MB of RAM at 0x800000 looks like this in the configuration:

addmem1=0x800000,0x200000

for posterity.

Use GUI, config editing is not needed anymore.
RAM -> Advanced Memory Settings, set size, tick "Manual configuration". Set start address.

I believe that will force autoconfig, no? Using addmem1 is the only way I found for it to not be automatically added on start.

No. There are 3 possible combinations:
- normal autoconfig
- manual autoconfig (can edit autoconfig data)
- manual without autoconfig

How does that work?

See this screenshot:

If I'm understanding you correctly, this should not be autoconfig...but it is. If I'm misunderstanding, how would I disable autoconfig here?

It is not autoconfig. Did you try it?

Memory at $c00000 is a bit 'special'
This space is for 'slow' fast ram so KS check is different.

You're exactly right - the slow-fast RAM is being added by Kickstart by means other than autoconfig. The second memory range (0x800000) works as Toni indicated.

Thanks, all!
