Murder

Hey

http://hol.abime.net/2532

There is another game called Murder, not sure if its shareware but its a FMV kind of game. Anyone seen this or think its worthy for HOL? I found the full version (think its full) on AGA Experience Vol 2, its about 45 meg. Runs fine on a A1200 with 8meg of fast ram.

Can you post a screenshot or upload the game to EAB-fileserver please? I would check it. I can remember about a game-test in german mag AmigaMagazin but I'm not sure if it is the same.

Uploaded, just need someone to move it somewhere. I added the files I needed in C: and Libs to make it work. I also had to add some assings as it kept asking for CD once on HD, didnt know any other way of making it work. These are what I added:

Assign >NIL: aga_vol_2: Demos:aga_vol_2 (I have other demos that needed files from that CD so this is where it looks for the C drawer for me)
Assign >NIL: Murder: Games:AGA_Various/murder

If you know an easier way please tell me I can't do screenshots myself, only use a real miggy now.

Thanks for the upload and moved to 'Game/Archive' on the file server for now (I assume it's meant to be copied to HD right?). Any more info about that one Jimbo? Any developer and/or publisher logo you could spot? I might have a look later, but not sure I have the time for an in-depth look. Would be great if someone could gather some info regarding this one

Hey, well it doesnt have a HD install it just plays from the CD. But I wanted it on the HD so I just copied over all the files in the upload. Hence why I had to add assigns as it wanted the CD each time. It has some info when the game is started I can write down some names in a bit and post back if noone else has had a look. I can't do screenshots though as I said above (real miggy), but I remember mine were never good enough anyway hehe

Heh That's okay, just wanted to say that for a PD/freeware type game it would be great to have some info to start with. Let's see if anyone else has some spare minutes then.

Well it doesnt say anything at all when started, just "Murder" then it gets right into the game. It has a file when the game is started you can click on.

Guys name is Ken Isley, email = krisley@eos.nscu.edu (dont exist anymore)
or Ken Isley @ FIDO 1:151/115.0

www4.ncsu.edu/eos/users/k/krisley/public/fmv.h which is also dead.

Best I can do

Hmm, that's a no-go then. Full name is "Kenneth Isley" btw.
Apparently this game was on 'Berliner Spielekiste Extra #140' :
"Nur von HD spielbar! Gepackt auf 48 Disks!!" (translation : Only playable from HD! Packed on 48 disks!!)
48 disks... Have yet to start the game though...

That's the game I remember. There was an article in German mag "AmigaMagazin". Maybe more information in the article. I can't remember in which issue the article was. Maybe I will check it next weekend.
You can find a demo-version in Aminet: http://aminet.net/search?name=Murder_&path[]=game/demo.
Are you sure that's the full version or just the same demo like in aminet?
BTW I couldn't start the game yet. I get the following error: Unknown error during object attachment.
What's wrong?

Resurrecting a 10 yr old thread.

Only came across this game as was only added to Lemon Amiga last year - not on HOL as of yet.

Just completed Contradiction a recent FMV detective game and was looking for similar ones when I stumbled on Murder (obviously different to the US Gold one)

Anybody found further info or the full game?

I streamed this last night and last week (last week I found this on Amiga Format CD 4) as a suggestion came in that the full version was allegedly on AGA Experience Vol 2. However, this doesn't appear to be the case as the readme mentions that you can use the phone and the inbox. But clicking those gives you the "buy the full game" text.

As for the game itself, it appears to have been written in CanDo! 3 as there are libraries for it in the Murder folder. You also need the arp library (version 39?) for the videos. The videos are played with a program called PlayFilm in the same directory.

It's a shame that the full game never turned up. I guess I'll create an entry with the shareware version then.

Does anyone have the game on HD and could archive it and upload it to the zone? I would like to avoid installing it from 11 disks
