Big grin Marvin's Marvellous Adventure: Hey, now look at that! :)

You DO know that "guy" in the spaceship, don't you?

That's really a cool way of reminiscing.

(This scene is taken from the last episode of MMA, shortly after you're prompted to insert disk 4.)

I love this kind of things

Am I the only one who thinks "Marvin's..." is a great game? Simple and much fun! It's one of the games I spend the most time with on my 1200...

Given that it was released in 1994 after an abundance of excellent platform games in the 2-3 years before it, I thought it was a lousy game for a lot of reasons.

The thing that annoyed me the most is that it was too simplistic......collect the objects and beat the clock. That became quite repetitive for me and there was nothing innovative or novel on later levels to hold my interest. In some ways, Marvin reminds me of a poor man's Boulderdash (released 1984) with platforms thrown in for "innovation" 10 years on no less!

Kick arse! Wonder if 21st Century left easter-eggs relating to their Pinball titles in this game?

Shame Rich Pelley gave it just 26% in AP.

Yup I give you that, but Super Mario Bros. suffers the same problem. The game really reeks of the 1980s I suppose that's why I like it. And that's why you don't! It really is simplistic but it's a game one can pick up in a minute and play for hours. Given the short ammounts of time I get to spend nowadays with my 1200, this kind of games are my favorites.

Mind you, first time I played Marvin's was this year, when I got my first 1200

Refresh your memory, will you
There is no clock nor are there any other time constraints!

I've just played the first few levels of this game, and it is the only AGA game I've found two problems: 1) the clouds in the first levels will make the score go fuzzy if they go behind it, and 2) sometimes when the screen scrolls, green bars appear in the background, only to disappear again if it scrolls again.

Other than that, the game is playable. I would play this game on an Amiga 1200, but I don't have one.

<yawn>

Then that just gives greater weight to my assertion that the game is simplistic. Without a clock the game is much more simplistic than I remember.
