In YouTube you'll find some Protracker tutorials.

Protracker has build in help (press Help key) or get the files here: http://aminet.net/package/mus/edit/PT4_Beta2_src The help also includes howto and tips. Load/play/watch some modules should also give you an idea how it works. Its more or less just load samples and edit the tracks with them adding effect commands.

Are you a musician already? Do you know chords, arrangements, scales?

When i was a kid i learned doing music by loading modules into Protracker, and seeing how they were created. I listened to the bass lines, how drums were created and so on. Then i saved a few samples that i liked from these modules and started making my own first track with my findings... For me that worked quite well. Happy tracking!
