Amiga IRC and other Amiga Chat
I'm looking at some more active Amiga IRC channels.
I've been the EAB channel and is completely and utterly dead. I also joined the ##amiga channel of freenode and it was even more dead than EAB's! The most active place I've seen is the Amiga Discord channel. You can join here: https://discord.gg/HYqTkaY I'm only bringing this up because those Atari bastards have a super chatty IRC channel and I wish the Amiga scene had one like that. |

I agree. I always come to the party late. It took me forever to get my Amiga online. Back in the day I used a slip ppp and a dial up and it was awesome. Then years later I went through several boards trying to get my miggy online. Finally I got an xsurf 100 in it and got online again. Was stoked to see it came with wookiechat. I spent night after night trolling through Amiga chat rooms that had many users “apparently” logged in and no one was saying anything. I would say hello, etc and never got a response. I thought Amiga IRC was dead. Haven’t thought about it for a year or more till I read this post. Good on ya mate for carrying the torch. I’m haven’t some graphical issues with my system at the moment but I’ll try to get on the server you mentioned and chat tonight.

The EAB channel has it's moments, a lot of people idling but I've had some decent chats in there. I don't check it all the time though, so do see a lot of people signing in, saying hello, then signing out 2 minutes later.

The AmigaDev/AmigaPorts slack is pretty active from time to time. But that one's mostly interesting if you're interested in developing for the platform.
The #apollo-team IRC on Freenode can be pretty active at times too. The discussions are usually all things Amiga and not just Vampire / Apollo Core |

Is there a thread or website that is keeping an active list of what IRC channels and servers are out there and if they have activity or not?

I have decent conversations on irc.abime.net. The SnR is very high. I only ever go on with my Amiga though, so I'm often not on there. If you ask a question be prepared to spend a while waiting for a response, but if you do it'll show up at some point usually.
Also don't forget Atari users can only single task, so they're all in the same channel rather than being on multiple threads at once. |

#VC on slashnet.org is for 'general talk about vintage computers'. not amiga specific, but there are definitely a few amiga users in there.
