Boing Ball in a Window?
Hi all!
I have seen many time the Boing Ball demo, the original one, running in its own screen... but I wonder if anyone ever wrote the same demo to run in a Workbench window? Actually, I'm looking for cool "demos" to showcase the Amiga but that runs in the Workbench, any pointers? Cheers! |

Hi James and thank you!
Wow, that's much more than I expected I have tries already the first few ones, until Q{r}cov, I'll test the other ones in the coming days but, for sure already, you made my day! These demo are really cool and show what the Amiga is capable of doing! Cheers! |

I'm not sure of the names, but there was one that had a moving bumpmap that used the cursor as the light source,
https://aminet.net/util/wb/WBBump.lha Another had moving stars in the background. https://aminet.net/search?query=wbstars And one had lemmings walking on your open windows. https://aminet.net/package/util/wb/CyberLemmings also had a homer simpson talking rubbish in the corner at one point. https://aminet.net/package/util/misc/NewHomer Edit, I remembered the names in the end. I'm sure there are loads more out there. only the first and second looked like demo effects. But they were all fun. Last edited by khph_re; 02 July 2020 at 00:46. Reason: found 'em |

Hi Khph_re and James and thank you!
@Khph_re, I like CyberLemmings very much @James, Many excellent demos... But none of the P96-PIP would work on my Amiga, would you if there is anything special to do about that? Cheers! |

Most should work with just a PiP compatible gfx card (PicassoIV, UAE e.t.c.) and P96, a couple of them might only work with a 68040+ CPU. GenderBender requires a 15bit screenmode to be available. Frostbyte requires RTGmaster and the PiP sub library. http://aminet.net/package/driver/video/rtgmaster_user http://aminet.net/package/driver/video/rtgPIP |

Hi James!
Thanks for the info.! I installed the two libraries but still no joy: GenderBender says that it "Can't open view". SnoopDOS doesn't show anything missing... Did you have a similar problem? For Frostbyte, it runs in its own screen but when using the RTG option, I cannot select "Run in Workbench Window" in the window that appears, the one in which I can select the c2p algorithm. Cheers! |

I run Frostbyte without any arguments, in the screenmode selection window (press shift on launch to make it appear if you already have a mode saved) choose a 320x200 8bit mode and make sure it says PIP Display under Mode Properties. |
