Difference between 391078-01 and 391078-02 CIA chips?

Hi!

I was just wondering if there is any difference between these to versions of the CIA chips? Do they both with the A1200? I think I have only ever seen the 391078-01 on A1200 motherboards but 391078-02 is perhaps a later model of the chip used in later models of the A1200?

The difference is that the -01 supports running at 1 MHz, the -02 at 2 MHz.
For Amigas, this is irrelevant, so you can use (and even mix) both variants.

Ok, great. Thanks for your replies!

So that means I could use any one of these but 391078-02 is preferred over 391078-01 because of a bug, right? How common is that bug? I mean, Commodore sold quite a few A1200's. If it was a serious bug the computer would probably not be as popular as it was. Was there any stock A1200's that were equipped from factory with the later 391078-02 chip?

It's not very serious. The thread has some discussion about it. We lived quite long without knowing about it. :-)
