UV Block after Retrobrighting?
I know some people recommend a UV block after parts have been retrobrighted, but I can't find out what products people are using.
Any hints? |

Well, seem there is no reply for your question so perhaps you can use body sunblocker (sunscreen lotion) or dedicated solution for car front lights... afraid that both may give shine look...

Learn from the masters - model makers:
Tamiya UV Blocker Matte or Semi Gloss finish. Learn to spray it appropriately before you try it. |

Valken - yes, very good advice - paints for plastic models should be best in this situation.

Blocking the UV will not prevent the plastic from re-yellowing, but it will then prevent you from retrobrighting again in future.

there is no way to prevent the re-yellowing because the plastics that once turned yellow are very buggy and susceptible to the earth atmosphere ie oxygen, nitrogen, co2 ,methane etc if you want ur Amiga to remain white , make a special room in your house where you can extract all the air, then wear a spacesuit to enter the room and then use the computer in such way |

I use some matte auto polishing wax after the retrobrite. It's nothing permanent, but it helps protecting the aged plastic surface from environmental influences.
It's got an UV filter as well, though, as some stated above, UV is only part of the yellowing equation. In fact, the yellowing is a mixture of a lot of chemical processes happening at once that aren't caused by but accelerated by UV exposure, air, heat and so on. So, protecting the parts from UV, excessive heating, e.g. by direct sunlight, and blocking some of the air off with a wax film will not stop the yellowing, but can, depending on the level of decay the polymers are already in, significantly decelerate it. |

https://www.maniac-auto.com/fr/peint...-detailer.html https://www.maniac-auto.com/fr/peint...eal-matte.html and of course the first product suggested by pandy71. https://www.amazon.com/303-30382-Pro...0185PU38A?th=1 I think I'm leaning towards one of the first two as they make more of a deal about the matte finish. |

other solutions could end up your Amiga very bright and buggy anyways I agree with torsti76 it will not stop the yellowing but perhaps could decelerate it, I honestly don't know if it's worth so much work, my A1200 I bleached it once and around 1 year later or so end up in the same color, so I don't bleach it anymore alternative solution which perhaps retain the white is keeping your Amiga always in a sealed box ,and take it out of such sealed box only when you use it |
