Clive Townsend of Saboteur looking for Amiga coders
The legend that is Clive Townsend is looking for help.
Well above my current skill level, but thought someone here might be interested Facebook Link The message from that post reads: "Hello Amiga mates ! do you know someone who codes for Amiga? Clive Townsend the legendary Saboteur creator needs a coder so if he can draw a background, a few sprites, and a foreground and it runs fast enough and any language would be ok." Feel free to reply on here or on Facebook if you think you can help! Thanks! |

A shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes.
But I'm guessing that's not the info you need I'm just putting this out there, I'm not directly involved, I'd just love to have Sab on the Amiga. I've asked the originator if he can join EAB to answer any question as I do realise this is a bit vague. |

OK, after speaking to Clive, which I should have done before I posted here really but I had assumed what Joao said to be correct, Clive IS keen on an Amiga port, BUT has a coder pencilled in already and will only need more if he declines.
Sorry everyone, lesson learnt - research first! |

I'll out myself as the guy who was working with Clive already. The work I had done was based on the code base of the Unity remake (for Switch, Android, PC, Mac etc). The Unity version is far larger than the original Spectrum game, featuring around 9 levels (as opposed to just the one large 'single' level from the original game). The Unity version also features different tile sets that simulate what the game would be like on different platforms, including Amiga, so I've used the tileset for that as the standard graphics rather than a bonus. I've gotten extremely busy with the Scorpion Engine and related projects, so I haven't done anything on it in awhile. But I could take another look at it if there's much interest - I had generally been planning just to complete the first level (so the same length as the Spectrum version) as a starting point, and then after that looking at completing the rest of the game depending on how much interest there was. Clive is still really keen on getting an Amiga port, and I'm not sure when I'll ever get back into it - so I have no issue at all with handing over the reins if someone else wants to do it. |

@mcgeezer might be worth maybe catching up with Clive yourself maybe? Ignore that other feller, I've no idea what his involvement is, but he's clearly not running the show. Be awesome if we could continue @earok's work on this! |

Yep, that guys is well known as a complete dick. I'm surprised he's still bobbing around in Amiga groups - he's been banned from a fair few and AFAIK set up a group of his own as a result.
