Amiga RGB to VGA cable

Hi All,

I want to make my own RGB to VGA cable for my A1200, I'm planning on using the guide below:

http://www.ntrautanen.fi/computers/hardware/misc/a4000_vga_cable.htm

But I'm confused which wires connect to which pin on the inverter IC. Has anyone else made a cable using this method? I'd be grateful for any help on which wires go to which pins on the inverter.

Cheers

Ben

I've also checked the 2 guides on aminet and whilst they do have wiring diagrams both are different so I'd really like to hear from someone who's made one and can confirm their method worked.

Thanks again.

Why do you need 5+ v. It will work without it.
EDIT, misread. I see why you need 5+v for now.

use 7404, hsync from amiga to pin 1 of inverter then pin 2 to pin 3 finally pin 4 to hsinc on vga connector,

Vsync from amiga to pin 13 of inverter then pin 12 to pin 11 finally pin 10 to Vsinc on vga connector

connect ground pin 7, 9, 5 of ic and pin 14 to +5 volt

Thanks cpiac64

Would you use a capacitor between the ground and power supply wires as suggested in the guide? If so, would a 0.1uF 50 Volt Ceramic Capacitor be ok?

Thanks for your help, whilst I'm pretty good with a soldering iron I'm a newbie when it comes to understanding electronics.
