I've been dreaming and drooling over an affordable 060 accelerator since '96 and just when i thought i saw a glimpse of light....well i guess the wait is not over yet....

Anyway thanks to Stephen an Chucky for all the amazing work they have done so far, hope to be one of the "good guys" in the future!

Seems like the thread took a little bit of a nasty turn. Hope we can keep it more civil. There are plenty of forums where the user base makes it less desirable. EAB is different and what we should have learnt by now is that ranting and outbursts of frustration don't yield the outcome if anything push the same people further from it...

It looks like it will close just fine! I have my fan mounted differently but without issue I can have a fan above it and still space to spare

Tho, I liked his solution and might 3D print a bracket and move mine for more breathing room

Yeah, defo need to look at that cable management! The Solas has an RF audio monitor cable, two temp sensor cables, a fan cable, environment sensor cable, LED strip cables and the additional power cable for the Bifrost Heimdall.

Will look at tidying it up later...

Like many, I wanted one and was looking forward to their release. Like many, I was gutted to hear the plug got pulled on them. I thought - purely from the few snippets I'd heard here and there - that he was overreacting. But honestly, I read through the last few pages of this thread and can completely understand why.

What people seem to forget is that this is a guy designing these in his spare room. This isn't TerribleFire Inc.™ demanding money. This project was a dedicated volunteer, being helped by other volunteers, doing this not for profit but to help people out. People ranting and raving, waving their hypothetical wads of cash around shouting "LOOK I HAVE MONEY, THIS IS A DISGRACE" are so wide of the mark, they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. If the guff yer man a few pages back was spouting is a sample of what he's been putting up with, I agree with Stephen 100%. Eff the begrudgers.

Think of it this way. You're at the pub and someone at the bar forgot his wallet. Being a decent sort, you pay for their beer and get back to your friends. What you'd expect is a "cheers, I'll get you one next time I see you" and that be that. What you WOULDN'T expect would be for them to follow you around the rest of the night demanding over and over and over when the next one is coming. Or for a group of other random people to start harassing you because they'd heard you were good for a pint.

And that doesn't even begin to touch on the fact that people were taking his open sourced designs, producing boards, and claiming them as their work.

I'm absolutely disgusted on his behalf.

Hi Chucky, I’m impressed by the availability of fancy colours.. it wasn’t in the habit of Stephen to do others than green ones...
I believe to get a purple one we need to be even closer in your circle of friends??

the purple ones is due to the fact I have a purple 1200 board so I needed a matching PCB

and stephen have made a special black batch but other from that, there will be no other color. of the simple reason of that JLC only does the passiveassembly on green pcbs.

I had to replace the PCB buttons on my tank mouse.

It took me half an hour to desolder eight joints and resolder them.

I think I need to practice a bit more.
