Super League 2021: Round 2 - Nitro
Nitro [lemon] [hol] Fire up your engines for a deadly game of Nitro. 32 quick fire tracks across the city, forest, desert and wasteland. Can you live up to the legend of Ace One? As the manual tells us. 'Ace One's travel mind suddenly conjured up a mental picture of the first time he had deliberately rammed a spectator who had wandered onto the track. He had splattered his victim as easily as if he'd stomped on a cockroach. Since then he had erased a dozen more, more than half of them impaled on his turbo buggy. But there was no time for conscience now. After all, people meant points. And winning was all that counted. To become Champion of Champions was the only goal no matter how many lives it cost.' Round Ends: 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 20th February 2021 Rules:

Had no highscore entry, so I submit the score after course 31. Also game completed.

Well, it's been a long time since I played this one. If anyone's interested and wants to watch me make a fool of myself, I'll be streaming my first attempt live on my Twitch channel from 8:30pm (UK) tonight (I'll be playing this first up and then moving on so get there early-ish!).

Thanks to those who came along to watch and provide assistance and support tonight on my stream - it was greatly appreciated
After a shaky start I managed to get to the end... And here's the score... 222,000 |

Back on my A1200 for this run. A lot better, but a couple of needless last-place finishes let me down a bit.

I once set a pretty good score at this game, but I did it by having the HOL maps up on a second screen and studying them before each race. Is it ok to do that during the comp?

Those wasteland levels are brutal with no road markings.

358,000, but unfortunately for me I went to take a screenshot when my score was 243,000, and in doing so I accidently hit the mouse button which activated player 2, so for one race I had only 2 CPU cars to race against. It's probably fairest to treat everything that happend after that as a practice go, so I'll submit 243,000 as my score. |

Aw man, that is unfortunate. Such a good go. But even though it's only a minor thing, it affects the score, so is best to go with the earlier score. Good of you to say so.
Were you hunting down all the point drops and winning races? That was the bit I had trouble with. I threw a few races early on to get cash for upgrades. I figure winning races is worth points so you need to do both and I couldn't always catch up again. Some of those tracks are hard to do even if you know where to go. |

Yeah, the last few night races always go wrong for me, because I try to win them and mess it up and lose the pack and get totally lost. But I can't help but race ahead.
