Relax guys. The Smurf Rescue deal happened almost 8 years ago and it's safe to assume it was a fringe case. Countless ports and demos (from even active IPs) have been created for Amiga in the mean time, with absolutely no issues whatsoever (f.e. Domkid also made the very recent Maria Renard's Revenge, which is based on the Castlevania IP). So no reason for fearmongering

Lately am doing some tunes transcriptions for scorpion engine version, included BreakThru and Wonderboy III and am not sure how much Sakaguchi (the author of WB III songs) is protective of its work so for now i keep it soft because he might have a Sega approach or a Nintendo Approach -_- My take is: let's stay relaxed BUT not to show up too much Last edited by saimon69; 25 May 2023 at 19:30. |

Tbh the game should be renamed just so it is a little different to reduce drawing attention like "Castle on Delusion", alternative proposals welcome

Haven't Mickey Mouse public domain already? Isn't it lovely a company that made their fortune out of public domain stories to bind their works as much?

I think this https://screenrant.com/mickey-mouse-...ion-explained/ explains it very well (though I don't know if it's correct in detail - at least it sounds believable). Long story short: No. Mickey Mouse is a trademark that won't expire anytime soon - if at all. |

Are we still having this conversation about borrowing IP to make Amiga games? Who cares? Worst case you'll get is a cease and desist letter which would probably look quite nice on the wall. I was kinda hoping for one from Konami.
Game looks great BTW. |

You won't get sued when you also use those public domain characters and stories - only if you use their own trademarked characters. Not funny at all.

I care. It physically hurts me to see people bang their foot against a rock when they can just skip over it pain free. Just don't do it, pick something else to do. Thousands upon thousands of choices that are far more abandonware. Don't touch Nintendo, don't touch Disney.

Yeah and if some of them aren't still alive any more they could just use Amiga's speech synthesis to do the voices. Or, OR! They could train an AI on the show's dialogue and run it on Amigas and record it from Paula or use it to teach the speak library how to do it, also run from Amigas.
