Question CD32 (with SX1) problem

A friend of mine has a CD32. Some recent cds doesnt work at all with it, simple doesnt appear nothing on the CD, but if he tryies on a nasty PC with CD it can read. Dont know whats the problem, because it works for me, but i have a A1200 with a CD.
ThereĀ“s some kind of patch to fix this problem with the CD32 ???

I don't understand what kind of CD you are inserting in the CD32, really.

First of all, make sure it is not a CD-RW, as the CD32 cannot read those. Another thing you can try doing is using a different brand of media. I recommend something with a good printed label on it, like Verbatim or Maxell. If that still doesn't work, try reducing your burn speed to at least 8x.

Good luck!

The CD that i have its a compilation, with lot of stuff for Amiga - its a 700MB CD.
I think it have some kind of Copy Protection.
Does this interfere with it ?

When the CD32 reads the CD it searches for the CD32 Boot ROM on the CD. The CD32 can only read CD's which have the CD32 Boot ROM installed. This compilation CD you mention will definitely not have the CD32 Boot ROM installed. If a CD doesn't contain this Commodore CD32 Boot (TM) ROM it simply won't boot. Only proper CD32 games have the Boot ROM which is why other standard CD's don't boot.

Also, I don't know if a normal iso9660 cd could be read just like that? Never had a cd on an Amiga.

They've always worked fine for me using Workbench 3.1 on a floppy, cd32 and sx-1.
However, once you install OS3.9, whole lot of other problems come in, such as getting audio cds to work and copying files from Workbench.
