AmigaCity Torrents
I'm going to create a torrent of all the AmigaCity supported files. This is not quite as big as other sites as i only take the best files (imho of course) and do not have multiple versions. However you will still get like 2,500 files in the archive... Do we have a tracker again, or do i need to set that up too?

Ok, I created a Amiga torrent and submitted it to several trackers. Does anyone have a Amiga-specific tracker I can add to the list? My torrent is at: https://AmigaCity.xyz/index.php/downloads/ourtorrents

New Amiga torrent tracker
I couldn't find a tracker for Amiga City to use so I set one up myself. The announce link is:
http://AmigaCity.xyz/tracker/announce.php and the scrape link is: http://AmigaCity.xyz/tracker/scrape.php To get stats you can use: http://AmigaCity.xyz/tracker/scrape.php?stats Please only add Amiga torrents! I also have a torrent file of our curated/selected Amiga files. We don't carry multiple versions of a file or every possible file, but there is about 2gb in the current .7z file. You can view our torrents at: https://amigacity.xyz/index.php/downloads/ourtorrents |

Ok, I have added a tracker that support udp: protocol and is supposed to be higher performance. Please use this one first in your torrent tracker list, then the http version.

Seeding would be helpful.

Create torrent, upload it somewhere, then download, and add the torrent to your client, point it to where the files are, once it completes the file checking, it should start uploading.
At least that is the theory. |

Thats basically what I did, the file shows as "downloading" though, not seeding. I will try downloading from my server and see if that helps...

If it says "downloading" then it didn't find the files, didn't complete the file check, and hence doesn't think it has the torrent files, and can't seed. Check where you pointed the torrent client to store the files for the torrent.

Hmm, i tried copying the big file to the transmission download area and restarting transmission, but it still says "downloading" but no activity. Anyone have a walkthrough for Ubuntu's web transmission daemon?

Ok, it is copying the .torrent files into the proper place as it does display the metadata from the .torrent. But the .7z file is not in that directory. I will try copying it to that directory before adding the .torrent and see if that helps...

Ok, after copying the .7z file into the download directory before adding the .torrent it is now in seed mode. Thanks for the tips!

I still don't "see" you, but i assume it will update the tracker sooner or later i guess.
Ah, nevermind, looks like you made a new torrent. Well, i nabbed the new one, and should help seeding it for a couple of weeks. That should make sure everyone that wants it early on gets it. I'm on a 100/100Mbit hookup, with no traffic cap. Since i'm not going to be at home, Transmission will have most of the bandwidth for , and this... Joking of course. I bring my with me, so pretty much only this... |
