Full CD32 FMV support or partial ?

I try to run the CD32 Demo disc 2.0 to play the 2 MPEG Demo files, but i only get black screen.
VCD are working well and Cannon Fodder CD run the FMV without problem, but the Demo Disc 2.0 seems to have problem.
As it is a CD with data/audio/video tracks, can it be the problem ?
Tried to mount an iso with Daemon Tools or with a real CD but it's the same.
Some iso mounter app doesn't handle this CD because of the multi tracks (VirtualCloneDrive for example).

Is the FMV support complete or just VCD & Cannon Fodder Disc support ?

Can someone read the 2 MPEG demos with WinUAE ?

Searched the disc no Mpeg/Mpg or Dat files found
There were a couple of script files:

Tried my copy of Dangerous Streets/Wing Commander :
That plays the Mpeg (poorly), but it works ---

Could not find the Video file for that either,
Perhaps it/they have a track to themselves ?

Yup the 'video' (audio) is on tracks 4 and 5
and track 10 for DS/WC.

I have some CUE/CCD image of Demo disc 2.0 and MPEG video works fine. (No, don't ask).

Most random images floating around probably are broken (like Cannon Fodder FMV track) because it was not possible verify images unless you had the (rare) MPEG module.

I can confirm the MPEG tracks work using a real disc (CD32+FMV Quickstart setting). But I think there's a WinUAE issue here, too. There's supposed to be background music on the menu screen, a CD audio track - it's not playing. Might be related.

Edit: to be clear, this is with regard to Commodore’s Demo CD 2.0.

If your using an image file, you need to load the .cue file to tell winuae where the data/audio/video tracks are.

I have an image file of demo disc 2 but it looks broken/bad not playing the mpeg video and a zero byte track 6.

Looking at the files it looks like Liller should be track 4, Creation Ntsc 5 and Creation Pal 6.

I am still using version 3.6.1, but I also checked: last version of WinUAE that plays background music in menu is 4.2.1

i can confirm that on WinUAE, Demo Disk 2 works perfectly with mpeg movie in full screen (winuae 3.1.0, i cannot test with other versions)

So everything is working 100% - CD audio, MPEG - with that image file and latest WinUAE beta?


I'm on WinUAE 4.9.0 with a real original CD and don't get the CD audio. Maybe something's been fixed in the beta series. I'll have to try it.

Check winuaelog.txt. Using real CD drive is very different than using images. (and it was never optimal choice because it introduces extra "latency")

Yes, as far as I can tell, it's working perfectly fine.

Just make sure it's the CloneCD image, not the iso/wav one.

Remember, I’m using a real original CD. So the disc structure is definitely correct.

Log says CDDA is playing, but now I’m getting a high-pitched buzz instead of CD audio, on both 4.9.0 and 4.9.1b2. Given the change, I wonder if this might be something to do with my host system (running Windows via VMWare Fusion on a Mac). If that’s within the scope of issues you’re trying to address I can post the log.

Cannon Fodder FMV is fine here.
It requires CD32 FMV rom in /Roms subfolder, it wont run without it.

to activate fmv in WinUAE you must have Extended rom. There is no FVM rom.
