Connecting HxC2001 FDD Emu to external disk drive port
Hi everyone
Does anyone know if there is a version of the HxC2001 FD emulator that you can connect to an external disk drive port on the back of an Amiga 500/600/2000 etc and use to choose HFE's? I've got the HxC2001 SD FC emulator and works great but you need to undo the Amiga's cover to connect it to power and the Floppy cable. Thanks |

When connecting the HxC to the CDTV the drive is recognised as DF0:
Whether my external connector is damaged or not, I got read errors on the disks though, so I gave up for now. I have also managed to blow the even CIA chip messing around with external drives. |

I had same idea, have an external 5 1/4" Amiga drive (a old no-name that mimicked a 3.5" 880KB drive) but since it became totally unreliable to read/write floppies on it, I have always kept it for the day I can use it with some other drive, but now the HxC came to mind, I have it already, but also have a brand new 3.5" original Amiga drive I bought maybe 10 years ago but never used it, as my 1988 A500 drive made a screeching noise last time I used it, so replace internal 3.5" and use external 5 1/4" enclosure for HxC
As I just moved house and can finally put my Amiga hardware in a room, I hope to get some movement on this front soon |

I've soldered an cable from the external floppy connector to the HxC and it works perfectly both as df0: and df1:. Off course to use as df0: you must either disconnect the internal drive or move it to DS1..
