Pagestream 3 patching woes...

I wanted to play around with PageStream 3 and see how it works. Unfortunately, the only version of PageStream 3 that I could find online is a cracked version of the initial "beta in all but name" release. Hoping against hope, I still tried the patches on Aminet to upgrade PGS3 up to snuff. In doing so, I screwed up the program in such a way that the system now Gurus immediatly every time I run Pagestream. Any help here, or does my curiosity just have to go unquenched on this one?

Pagestream is still being sold and developed on the Amiga and other platforms, so it's not something that can be upped to EAB:

AMR does have V2.x on coverdisks, though, so you could have a look at that version if you can't get your hands on V3.x elsewhere:

Is it still being sold for the Amiga though? They certainly don't seem to have a demo version available or anything... Plus, getting a copy isn't an issue, it's updating the copy that I have that's the issue.

Well, if you're updating a cracked/beta version with patches for use with an original/final release copy, then it's not totally surprising that you've run into problems. You haven't given us any other info. to work with either to help you troubleshoot the problem (e.g. Amiga configuration, guru number, what triggered the guru etc. etc.).

I can't remember the Guru number off-hand (it's at home and I'm at work)

The Amiga itself is my standard: "horse around with Amiga stuff too fancy for my A500" environment: a Linux box running e-UAE configured with 64 MB of Z3 RAM, 8 MB Chip RAM, AGA+P96 graphics running the Amiga Forever 3.5/3.9 hybrid Workbench.

Also, it's not officially a beta release, it's just the initial 3.0 release which quite frankly has enough missing features and bugs that it FEELS like a beta Any help is welcome, but if it doesn't work, it's not the end of the world... There's other program to try.
